Hello, Cybertruck Fans!

We’re a couple from Los Angeles, and after a lot of back-and-forth, we’ve decided to order a Cyberbeast by the end of the month! This will be our first Tesla and our first electric vehicle, so we’re excited (and maybe a bit nervous) to dive into the EV world.

We don’t have any experience with electric cars, but we’re looking forward to learning along the way. One of our big plans is to find a good RV to tow with the truck for some road trips. If anyone has tips on EV towing or RV recommendations, we’re all ears!

Looking forward to connecting with you all and picking up some insider knowledge. Can’t wait to finally place that order and join the Cybertruck community!

Welcome! I'm loving my Cyberbeast from June delivery. It's the best if you have the money for it!
That’s awesome! I noticed you’re from Vegas, we saw a bunch of Cybertrucks on our last trip there, and now we can’t wait to get ours and cruise around the Strip!

Hi Susan! Welcome to the club!

I've towed a bit with the Cybertruck (AWD, not the beast) and can give a few generalized pointers. The biggest struggle I've had is that it tows just about anything like it isn't there at all, it simply doesn't complain! But that doesn't mean you should tow anything for long distances because of range loss when you get into the big/bulky stuff. For example, a full horse trailer felt the same as a small tent trailer, but the tent trailer didn't really impact range at all while the horse trailer cuts it in half.

So depending on how many you want to sleep, prioritize quality in a travel trailer over size and height and you'll enjoy much better range loss numbers.

I'd also recommend, if budget and interests align, something that is compact height-wise while traveling. Lower profile trailers like pop ups make a huge difference when towing at highway speed.

If budget allows, get plenty of solar. Lol that's just generally a great add on!

Have fun!

Congratulations! You'll love it but talk about jumping in on the deep end! Towing big heavy trailers for long distances is about the only place where EV's don't out-perform gasoline vehicles. There are options such as the CyberTrailer which include their own battery to combat the range loss but that is a lot of $$$. Main thing is to slow down when towing to help preserve range. It's hard to do since, as others have said, you hardly notice you are towing. The truck is such a beast!

One more caution - the brakes are good compared to other trucks but not compared to sports cars. The steering and acceleration makes you feel like you are in a sports car so it is easy to forget it is a 7000lb truck. Several people have learned this the hard way.

I’d suggest an Escape RV. You are going to want something light and somewhat aerodynamic. What I like about escape trailers is they have the option to install a composting toilet from the factory and other off grid options.

I would skip the CyberBeast for towing. Get an ICE Truck and a Model 3. After a couple of years after learning how to live with an EV then make the switch.

You can rent one on Turo for a day before you spend 120k. Best car though I love mine. Just my two cents

You will love the CB and if you are like most of us will thereafter hate driving ICE vehicles
