$39,990 as promised could had put every other truck maker out of business
It's clear you don't know what the word "promised" means (or how to run a large auto manufacturing business).

A Cybertruck at $39,990 in 2025 would not put other truck makers out of business, it would put Tesla out of business.

Very nice CTs!!

It's definitely a lot more than originally, but I think is fair. 5 years ago was a different time. McDonald meals had increased the same percent. I was looking at new 4Runners, Tacomas, and Landcruisers, decent spec was 50k-60k.
I had the opposite issue: my money went up in value between ordering the CT on day 1 compared to the price on the day I had to buy it. My money was going up so fast compared to the dollar that I decided not to spend my money on the FS-B but to borrow dollars instead and my money has not quite doubled against the dollar since then.

My 2019 price was 13.15, price at time of purchase as 2.25 and cost today assuming I don’t pay off the loan prematurely is 1.35…

This is why one buys bitcoin. It’s the secret to not getting poor slowly…but only in the long run.

So clearly I don’t know what I’m talking about but Elon is fighting to come out with the $20,000-$25,000 car. He promised a $39,900 truck five years ago. The truck should not be at $80,000 in five years do your math because clearly you don’t know what you’re talking about and four more years that truck’s gonna be over $250,000. Ignorance is bliss. We haven’t had any inflation for years man’s been on the planet for millions of years. We’ve been here 70 years and we haven’t seen inflation like this in five years. It doesn’t go from 39,000 to 81,000 do yourself a favor price out a 2 Wheel Dr. And see what the delivery is $81-$83,000

They have to get you fighting with other people so you don’t have time to see how they’re absolutely f’ing you by printing money for themselves and their friends. Inflation is a crime, not a necessary evil or even beneficial for an economy…bitcoin fixes this.

i'm skeptical that Tesla could have produced a RWD Cybertruck for $39,990 even in 2019 -- never mind 2025.

Compare that number to the price of a 2019 Model 3 RWD Standard Range Plus (the most popular versIon of the M3 at that time). The RWD M3 was priced at $41,100.

So in 2019, Tesla assumed that they could offer a RWD Cybertruck for about the same price as a RWD Model 3. That was simply not a realistic assumption, either in 2019 or 2025.

No doubt Tesla was over-optimistic on the price. I think they were counting on deflation of batteries, electric motor components and chips between 2019 and the actual release of the Cybertruck and then COVID and supply chain disruptions and sudden inflation made everything go the other way, faster than they could have imagined. Just a 35" tire/wheel assembly went up by a huge amount, including the shipping prices to get them from the supplier to Tesla. Everything got a lot more expensive between 2019 to 2024, including labor and energy.

cybertruck became profitable in Aug for Tesla,
moving people to the AWD and the higher priced trucks made this possible
Tesla only produces approx 250 units weekly and they will ramp up production in 2026 as more markets open up
just wait till the OCT 23 earnings call.
lots of deals being released
0% financing coming back, watch

Congrats! You still got steer-by-wire, which is an underrated killer feature of Cybertruck in my book.

Could you take a photo from the backseat showing the vent area? I read the RWD removed the back touchscreen and am curious on how they did that... but can't find a photo of it anywhere.
