Mirror cover material difference between FS and nonFS

I ran into a regular nonFS CT today and noticed the mirror cover and the mirror base plastic is different than my FS. The new material is similar in texture to the wheel arch fairings instead of the smoother FS version. Not sure if this is intentional or not but figured I’d share in case any of you are replacing one of your mirrors to make sure you get a matching one.

Production change for sure. I have a march foundation series that came with the smoother mirrors in the bottom picture.

Both were recently replaced due to them squeaking when the doors were opened and closed. I received the new texture ones in the top picture. I actually like the new ones better.

They tried to fix mine at 2 separate service visits a month apart before they just replaced them.

Top ones look better IMO, the current FS ones I have look/feel cheap. Doesn't help that they creak any time you touch them

The new mirror covers looks more dark gray in person than the smooth black plastic from before. Not sure if this is caused by how light is reflecting off the new texture or not.
