Modifying a SAWD CT Order - Any Risks?

I have an order in for the $59.9K CT. Placed it on Feb 25. Sept/Oct Delivery Date (who knows if that's accurate). I didn't order any options. I'm now considering adding the Terrestrial Armor Package, as I plan on taking the truck off-roading. Appears I can log into my Tesla Account and simply add it.

Before I do that, I'm assuming:
1. By making this change, the base CT price of $59.9K won't change (ie - Tesla won't cancel that order and place a new order for the same truck at $69.9K).

2. Will this change affect the delivery date? Clearly, if the package is out of stock at the time of build, it would delay it, but otherwise, if the Terrestrial Armor Package is available for production, I assume my forecast delivery date would not change and the change would not bump me to the end of the line.

It did not change my Foundation Beast's status when I changed my order to be for the Tactical Grey interior. Your change should be the same. But, your SC can probably tell you for sure.

You can get the Armor added afterward, but it can absolutely delay your order (not saying it will, but it can). The longest wait times we've seen on the PAWD and Beast have been with the armor.

I don't think it would change the price.

It depends on you SC.

I changed the seat color on a Model S in 2022 and they said I would have to cancel and re-order in Charlotte.

I changed a MY order to a 7-seat configuration and they just said "ok". The timeline was pushed back 4 weeks, but it was delivered about when I was originally quoted.

The sooner the better. If you get a VIN, they may make you cancel or just wait for a new truck to be made.

Yes, we experienced that with our Model Y - wanted change the wheels style, but Tesla would not let us without canceling the order. This was back in 2022 when our order price was well below MY pricing at the time - kinda like how the SWAD pricing is now.

I asked about Cybertruck changes when I placed my SAWD order. I went to the store right after and spoke to a rep (about my loyalty discount, which did not auto add, but did add to my order a few days later). She said, any changes within the Cybertruck line wont impact my original order, other than additional cost for options. That said, they had not yet discussed a cut off for the $59K pricing.

delivery date only really matters if you you are expecting a sales tesla deal like 0%APR or free supercharging. if youre not then its just a patience game.

Took delivery of my premium AWD with a terrestrial armor on 5/6/26.
Much cleaner look. (photos attached) And no fragile farings to replace anymore. (Replaced the rear passenger faring 3 times on my ‘24 Foundation AWD)
It’s $500 cheaper from the factory.
That said… changing an order isn’t risk free. Especially in your situation (pre-price increase)

Do they charge install on top of $500 if you get it after delivery

No, it’s just $3000 if you include it in your order and $3500 installed at the sc

I messed around with changing mine and I noticed the early referral discount I received on the 59k CT did not get added to the updated price. I never submitted it, but something to be aware of if you did receive any extra discounts.

I would way rather the factory install it than trust the sc.

No doubt, assuming there’s no significant downside to the order change.

Looks great! Nice and clean. I added it to my order. I was assured by the Tesla SC it shouldn't have an impact on delivery date.

I added the Terrestrial Armor Package to my order. I didn't have a referral discount, but my Sale Incentive of $1K off was maintained when I changed the order.
