It's time we had a national law that requires those deploying AI bots to disclose that they are not human posters. It could be as simple as requiring the username of the poster begin with "AI-Bot".
The first hurdle would be to convince the general public that it shouldn't be legal in the first place to allow media companies to propagandise the populus. It's actually enshrined dejue via "The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act" and de facto via "Operation Mockingbird".

We really don't have a free press anymore; just an international conglomerate of liars.

I agree with Chrono Dog I have 50 plus clips of people taking pictures of CT I think its great and having a foundation series was even better because I was the first in the area to have one, so I get that many more (y)(y) up. Sometimes we pay more to be the first to have something that is awesome. I think people are just jealous.

Most people have no idea how true this is. They think it's some kind of wild conspiracy theory or something that people would deploy AI web bots against EV's or a company like Tesla (or their CEO).

But Elon knows. When he bought Twitter it was full of AI web bots with fake accounts, many of them programmed to hate on Elon and Tesla. It's pretty hard to tell (at a glance) what is AI and what is a real person when all they are posting is one-line disparaging remarks. And humans are social creatures programmed to go along with the majority. So when they see so many "people" that hate Elon and Tesla, they figure there must be a good reason for it (or so many wouldn't hate him). They don't know it's AI bots programmed to astroturf public opinion.

This is the number one thing that is under-appreciated in public discourse and much of the blame lies with the MSM who may underreport the proliferation of AI-driven web bots—such as those engaging in astroturfing (faking grassroots support via automated comments and posts)—relative to their substantial influence on public opinion for several interconnected reasons. These bots amplify disinformation, manipulate perceptions of consensus, and exploit social conformity, potentially swaying elections, consumer behavior, and policy debates, yet MSM coverage often remains superficial or sporadic.

Many MSM organizations are owned by or financially reliant on tech conglomerates and advertisers that develop or deploy AI, creating incentives to downplay negative stories about bots to preserve relationships and revenue. For instance, MSM outlets increasingly integrate AI for content generation, personalization, and audience engagement, viewing AI as a tool rather than a threat, which encourages MSM reporting to minimize the prevalence and impact of bot-driven manipulation.

Historical astroturfing examples, such as fossil fuel companies funding fake pro-coal social media campaigns, illustrate how corporate interests can suppress scrutiny, and similar dynamics apply to AI bots funded by governments or firms (e.g., China or Russia using them for propaganda or oil companies using them to create skepticism of EVs).

Media and social media have been targeted by influential groups with deep pockets. It's become painfully obvious in recent years. The evidence is public and verified, and you really need look no further than when an event happens and 30 unrelated media outlets all run the exact same headline/spin on the event.

Elon's a double target now, because he's pissed off those influencing media with his politics and Telsa doesn't pay for advertising, which is a legitimate threat to traditional auto media. It's honestly amazing Tesla gets any positive coverage at all, and I'm still surprised Consumer Reports assessed the original Model S as the best car ever; but I guess that was before the reality we now know.

As a passionate car lover and engineer, I get behind the wheel of a Tesla - any Tesla - and it is so far beyond anything else in the industry comparisons are almost laughable. The media establishment and auto coverage tries to make it as if the game is still being played, but it was won 5 years ago and it wasn't close. The fact that cars exist that are faster, safer, drive themselves, can't be stolen, have better sound systems and tech, better handling, are the most American made, the most environmentally friendly, last longer, need fewer repairs, and don't use gas... and yet aren't universally praised as by far the best vehicle option, should make you question all media coverage.

Again as a car lover I appreciate the visceral joy offered by other auto options. Driving a top-down Mustang with the growl of a V8 is something a Tesla simply doesn't offer. Corvettes are stunning. But objectively nothing is close to a Tesla, yet they are rarely CotY winners. I've never been much of a person for "reviews" as I can make my own opinions. And most reviews are weak these days, not wanting to piss off sponsors. They almost always end with the same lame statement of it being a good vehicle if it fits your needs. But I can test for myself and Teslas are on another level, and Cybertruck is the best of the best.
