My Foundation Cybertruck makes me feel like a celebrity!

Everywhere I go people take my picture. Everyone wants to see, and touch, and take a selfie. We took it to a classic car show last week. There were about 200 beautifully restored cars and trucks on display. My wife and I spent three hours with a crowd around us asking questions. What is it? We let them touch and climb aboard. Every kid had to sit i the driver's seat. The heck with fingerprints. They are part of the patina. It was worth a little cleanup to see the kids smiles. We didn't get a chance to see all of the cars on display. I guess the newness will wear off eventually, but while it lasts, it is truly the most fun vehicle that we have ever owned. We have met a lot of new people!

I used to be heavily invilved in the custom automotive scene and I’ve never seen anything drawing more attention than the CT is right now. Eventually the newness will where off, but I think it would take something on the level of a Batmobile or DeLorean Time Machine to possibly draw more interest today. I don’t think many hyper cars could.

Yeah I got a couple of other cool cars and have had my share of exotics but absolutely nothing compares to this. The attention is unreal. Also agree most people have no clue what it is. But so far I had only positive interactions.

I went to a Costco with mine today. A guy stopped to talk to me, his wife came around the corner about a minute later and she lost her husband, lol.

He's seen the CT online, but this was the first time in person. He said it's much bigger in person than he expected. Then he asked if he could take some photos. One of his last questions was price and asked, "are they around $200k?". He was shocked when I told them the AWD starts at $80K and the cheaper RWD might be produced next year.

I have enjoyed my CT for the last month, but am fairly certain it’ll never be my daily driver, for this reason alone. Too much attention. Once it’s mainstream, it probably will be.

I've driven mine around town for two days now. In person, everyone who approaches us in a parking lot or on the street is excited, curious, and genuinely happy to see the CT. For these two days at least, I always take time to talk and let them look around the vehicle. It has been so fun to meet people and see the smiles. Really, a once-in-a-lifetime experience, IMO.

But a very interesting thing now 36 hours in...

I've stumbled across two Facebook posts and one on my Nextdoor app of people who have taken pictures of me driving around, and then posted them. The caption is along the lines of: "Look at this monstrosity."

OK, I get the CT isn't for everyone. Duh, right? But the onslaught of comments below the post....whoa! The haters REALLY hate, don't they?

I agree. When I go to Home Depot I just want to grab the store microphone and say “attention shoppers, the is a Cybertruck parked outside, everyone needs to go see this beautiful beast” ??

The day I took delivery of my Tesla Cybertruck was unforgettable. It was a real head-turner, especially for kids. Even older ladies stopped me to ask about this unique vehicle. They were surprised to learn it was a Tesla, since it doesn't have any branding on the body.

The attention continued on the drive home. At every red light, people rolled down their windows, phones in hand, to snap pictures of the Cybertruck. In hindsight, sunglasses or tinted windows might have been a good idea! Even on the highway, I got a thumbs-up from a guy in an SUV.

This experience solidified the Cybertruck's reputation as a true conversation starter. It's definitely not your average truck!

That was my delivery day experience.
