Hey everyone,

I just got my 2026 Beast wrapped. I love the color, but noticed some things on the install. I've never had a wrap done before, so I wanted to see if this all sounds right. I'm taking it back to the installer on 5/4. The biggest concern for me is the cant rails. They didn't wrap them under, and in some places, the cut is very uneven with metal exposed. Seems like it should be cut straight. He said they will remove the rails, wrap around them, and reinstall them. That makes me nervous with all the rail issues and recalls. Is the wrap installer qualified to do that? I don't want them flying off on the highway because he didn't know how to reinstall them.

He also said that the corners had to be folded around because the PPF would rip otherwise. Does that sound right, or am I dealing with an inexperienced installer?

Thanks.

my cybertruck was the first wrap i ever did and mine came out a little better then yours. My DIY cantrails look better then yours. Other areas that anre off a tad and contaminants would have me a little bummed. Matters the price you paid. Top dollar I’d be pissed but for a “bargain wrap” it’s what you get.

This photo shows the alignment is off just by a cunt hair.

the inside corners are “within spec” at least with precut wraps.

Are these Xpel authorized installers? Deep experience wrapping Cybertrucks?

It's not xpel film. They say they have experience with CTs. There is a photo of one on their website at least.

buyer beware, for others stick with Xpel, Xpel authorized and talk to ref customers to ensure deep wrapping Cybertruck experience
Too bad so many preventative steps but $6K is an amount of money you need to protect

Well, it's PurePPF, so I figured that was a quality brand. I don't think Xpel is the ONLY quality brand. I don't think this is a film issue; it's an installer issue.

I did not. I contacted PurePPF regarding the color because it is not listed on their site as available. They said it is available, and the installer contacted them and bought it from them directly.

if you use the link now, is the installer on there?

They are not listed. They have all 5-star reviews, which is why I went with them. They also had great communication before, during, and after. At pickup, they told me to bring it in after 2 weeks to fix "normal" things that happen. I immediately sent them photos of all the issues, and they said the corners have to be that way or they will tear. As for the edges, they said there are all kinds of gaskets on the CT that make wrapping under impossible in some areas. They also said they would take off the rails and wrap all the way around them. BUT that makes me really nervous to have them do that. I don't think removing the rails should be necessary to properly wrap a CT, and I don't like the idea of them doing so.

This is probably what I should have done, but that's water under the bridge now. As I said, I was going off the 5-star Google reviews and the responsive comms. I just need to figure out how to make the best of this now.

The top of the cantrail does have aero gaskets that can get jacked up when tucking a wrap. Wrapping from the bottom has window gaskets but don’t thinking the would be damaged.

So are you saying that they should remove the rails? I asked them how they would reattach them, and they said they are on with clips and glue. I just get really nervous about them reattaching them. If they mess it up, Tesla isn't going to touch it.

I’m not saying that. I’m just verifying that when tucking the wrap the areo rubber and get dislodged(take a peak up there and you’ll see the rubber trim). I can see why an installer wouldn’t want to cause that damage. If you do have them remove it verify they have done it before and can realign it as it was.
