New Task Asking for Final Payment

In the wee hours of this morning 1:18 while on my 3rd app refresh after midnight I noticed I had to update my Tesla app, then the Go to App instead of View showed up. I immediately woke all the way up. I had a new task in finance where it’s asking for proof of payment. I’m financing and don’t have a VIN so I can’t send a copy of the front and back of check as requested. I’ll go to SC today. Any one have this? I hope it means VIN COMING

Select Cash until you get a VIN. Then switch to financing once you get a VIN. I’m not sure if this helps or not but it’s what I’ve done with my other 3 while waiting for a VIN

I think by checking off all the todo items, you increase your odds. But also, it’s Tesla so who knows.

Yeah but you can’t get financing without a VIN

Service says wait for VIN that this doesn’t mean I need to finance just yet. After VIN is assigned then I can do the financing and submit the copies of the front and back of the check as requested so when I come to pick up the process will be seamless. Omg, at least some change on my account finally. Day 63 So. Cal Irvine pick up location one day. lol

I got weak and after nearly 5 years I decided not to take a chance so I switched to Tesla financing just to get approved and leave nothing to chance! Now I’m back to View tab and waiting on a VIN. I wouldn’t be able to sleep if something went wrong. I can see them passing me up for other folks paying cash. If it’s predictable it’s preventable, so I prevented to the best of my ability the possibility of them passing me up. I hope… hope is not a plan. LOL

I am paying cash too. I will NOT give them the account info until I inspect the CT at delivery. Too many stories of them taking the $ and then there is a delay on delivery.

and besides, if you have financing other than Tesla, to Tesla, you are paying cash.

OP, FWIW in 2020 I bought two MYLR's. I selected Cash for both.

Once I got VINs, I contacted Tesla and switched to financing with a Credit Union (remember those early pandemic <2% rates? Talk about easy money, haha!!)

Telsa made the change on their end. Easy-peasy. Zero delay in delivery.

I got the invite for FSCT on 01/18/2024. I'm still on the fence. If I go for it, I will select cash again. If rates take a tumble in the meantime, I'll switch to financing once I get a VIN.

Don't think so. Once they have a specific delivery schedule which is usually two days from their notification and that would be enough time for you to make wire transfer which happens instantaneously or within the day if you do it in the morning. Or tell them you are bringing a cashier's check from your bank when you pick up.

Unless they want to use your unit for display, they have no reason to keep it in their lot.

I called my SC and they said it doesn't impact delivery. YMMV, grain of salt, every other thing we say about SCs and lack of consistency.
