Wow, I gotta check out that film. It definitely reminds me of what Neuralink is doing.
I also highly recommend watching Upgrade.

And no, I don't think it makes sense for Tesla to make or sell a phone.

Starlink v2 satellites can talk to ANY existing 4G or above mobile. Watch the T Mobile Starlink with EM event. They don't need their own phone, when every smart phone can use Starlink satellites as a "orbital cell tower".

Besides EM said they won't because it's already highly optimised and hard to iterate on, so they are better off leaving it up to those that already do it.

If there ever was one it would be a full stack X compatible, with full encryption, crypto and payment wallet etc. and run off mesh networking through other nearby devices, and Starlink, and cell towers, wifi etc. and be country agnostic, as much as they can.
