I’ve been thinking about the end of quarter incentives—why are we only seeing the 1.99% APR deal nothing else?

Maybe the ongoing physical recall for the cant rail issue could be the reason? I’ve heard that Tesla might not be able to fix every affected unit before the quarter wraps up.

I know the 2024 models are either discounted or have free supercharging. But I want the 2025 AWD trim to be able to get the tax credit.

Also, with the upcoming 25% tariff on non-U.S. vehicles and raw material tariffs on imports, Tesla might be holding off on deeper discounts to see how these policies shake out, especially with the competitors that will be affected. I know Tesla won’t be directly impacted by the April 2nd tariff, but pricing strategies across the auto industry could shift. I can see them being affected by the raw materials tariff, especially on steel.

I’m a day 1 reservation holder, so what’s another 3 months of waiting for Q2 incentives?

I went to my local Tesla Showroom yesterday and they had a bunch of Cybertrucks in a mall parking lot available. Only caveat was they’re technically not ready for delivery until they fix the physical recall. Also, these have all been sitting on the lot since mid-late February. The advisor showed me the “birth day” / production day of the Cybertrucks available.

What do you all think?

1.99% is basically Tesla paying around $6k off every truck sold. Could there be a better incentive? Maybe, but it's unlikely. There may be something like get white trim free in Q2 along with rate incentives, but I wouldn't expect anything else.

Last night, I had the same conversation with my aunt, who is also in Tennessee. Ultimately, she decided to keep her ModelY and wait a year or two to buy a Cybertruck. I told her I'd drive to TN in July to trade my CT for her ModelY for a couple of days, so she gets a complete experience.

1.99% is good
$7500 Fed Tax credit is better (if you qualify)
$1000 Refferal discount
Lock in FSD for $8k

If you need the truck sooner rather than later, jump on it. These incentives are not guaranteed to last long.

If you can wait 1 year+, then the long-term goal of the CT is to reduce manufacturing costs and pass the savings to the customer. Ultimately, Cybertrucks will start in the $60k range, but with the reduced price of the truck, any savings might be offset by a possible increase in FSD pricing when unsupervised FSD is released and, or reduced features.

It's a personal choice for all to tackle. Best of luck with your decision

I’ll also add there is a military discount of 1k and the referral and military can be combined. There is also lots of discounts for existing inventory. If your wanting a foundation series there was the lifetime supercharging incentive as well.

I’m buying my time for a better offer. Given the “climate” and a likely poor Q1 sales report, they will drop the price of the truck. They honestly don’t have a choice. Elon himself said the truck needs to be cheaper. This year we will see a price drop or 0% offer.

I doubt they drop the price of the truck. What you'll get is a stripped down version for cheaper. According to some the AWD is losing a small amount as it is.

You will more than likely get a cheaper cybertruck at some point. But with that might be cost savings and features. I was a day 1 reservation holder and just finally pulled the trigger this month thanks to the incentives. I hope those waiting it out get a better offer, but I’m happy with the experience.

I agree it’s a horrible time to buy a cybertruck as you can’t really camouflage what it is. And there is so much negative energy on the brand. I bought this truck for the tech, no other ev truck can honestly touch the cybertruck at least not stateside. The Chinese ev market on the other hand have some dope ev’s.

This is the exact reason I pulled the trigger as well. I purchased last Nov 2024. I’m so glad I did. Even before the Tariffs, Tesla said they are not making much profits from Cybertruck. If they lower the price, some features will be gone. They might remove ventilated seats or a few speakers or switch to plastic in certain places. This Truck is almost perfect. I don’t want to compromise on anything. If somebody plans to keep this Truck for a very long time, now is the perfect time to get the Truck. If tariffs impact Tesla and they can’t lower the price, they might remove few features and keep the price same. That’s even worst!

Congrats on getting one! I hope it brings a smile every time you drive! I know waiting it out could be shooting myself in the foot. If not a price drop then I know there will always be a APR incentive at some point at the end of a Q. Don’t let Tesla fool you though, the CT is profitable, but Tesla is more then willing to take a hit upfront on price if it means getting you to use their supercharging network. It’s like how GM makes their money off parts, Tesla makes a lot of their profit from charging. Also, the “climate” will change and the focus will be off Tesla when the next “thing” comes up and the masses are distracted by the next shiny thing. Can’t let people run your life for you, this truck is a once in a lifetime thing.

So the only numbers that matter to Tesla are the quarterly numbers, quarter is almost over.
BUT quarterly numbers are DELIVERIES, so a truck delivered today counts as Q1, if it is not delivered today it is Q2 or beyond.

Tesla can't keep up with the cantrail recall, so even if someone WANTS a truck today, they are delayed while the cantrail recall gets worked through. So no point in Tesla trying to increase sales now as they can't DELIVER before the end of the month.

I agree waiting it out could go both ways. Maybe a better deal or maybe no more incentives, no more tax credit etc.

I’m very happy I pulled trigger when I did. I was scheduled to take delivery on the 11th. It was pushed do to the can’t rail even though it was on site prior. They in my eyes did right thing and change my date to this past Saturday. I took delivery with the cantrail replaced. Could not have asked for better timing.

I plan to keep the truck for quite some time.

at the service center was a protest so Tesla let all customers take delivery in back lot to minimize the attention from the protest and allow us to focus on walking through our brand new teslas without any haggling

well done tesla

Yes . This will be the danger of waiting for a cheaper awd version. No dual locking differentials, which was very unusual and great that Tesla included this on all awd trucks. Very few manufacturers have a dual locker option. I bet in a few years people searching for used CTs will look for the original awd trucks that come with dual lockers over any other possible “base” awd to come.

I have my day 1 reservation still pending, waiting for FSD transfer to come back. Not expecting any price drop but hoping the 1.99 APR will be there. They can also give “limited” free supercharging- say for 5 years and 8K kWh (20k miles/year worth approximate) and only 100 miles away from your zip code?

They had FSD transfer right about when Non-FS was released. Thats when I pulled the trigger.
