Okay, firstly, if you bought your FS plz don't pop in here to tell us how right you were in making your purchase. We recognize that for those that can/want to afford it, FS isn't a stupid buy.

But for the rest of us, what do you guys think the chance are that FS ending means advertised prices starting? Part of me thinks it could be ANOTHER bait and switch to a Mars Series or something.

I got my FS invite in December and have been not so patiently waiting for FS to stop to no avail. So it's hard for me to believe 79k CT is 3 months out.

For those more positive than me. What will you do with your 20k, 27.5k, 32.5k (CO) savings?

Any other tin foil hat theories about what might be on the way besides 79k dual motor?

A lot of members can easily afford $100k FS but they didn’t bite.

I am waiting simply because I don’t want to spend FS money on a depreciating asset.

I predict the FS trucks are going to take a significant resale value hit in the next 6-12 months.

Anything higher than 79.9k and i think a whole lot of people walk. The tax incentive forces tesla to stay below 80k
I sure hope so

True
So you think we will get advertised prices?

One thing I'll mention is Tesla is always mentioning how they're constantly iterating. I think there's a good possibility that non-FS will actually be a better truck

many orders for FS are still December delivery est. so, IF they start producing non FS, it would be Jan -Mar of 25.... Then they start over in the orders and at 120 trucks built per year, even my first day order wouldn't come in until about oct-dec of 2025..... i was 89,000 in line
So all these people just getting the email to configure will be YEARS out... no way around it even if they have a 50-80% cancel rate. Im more than happy to pay the extra and get the extras with it (be it they are a little over-priced, but i don't have to wait 2-3 years)

When non-FS series open, they will take orders. I don't think that means there will be deliveries anytime soon. At least until they finish the FS backlog.

I do think they will stay with the prices from November (at first), but the upgrades (White, tires, etc) will have a decent mark up. However, as Tesla always does, the prices will absolutely climb if there's a long wait and quickly. We've even seen it in the first day (M3P) they base pricing on supply/demand and they can change almost daily.

Edit: I wouldn't be shocked to see the $79,9 turn into $85+ in a month.

I can see the RWD MSRP jumping up a bit but not the $79,900 AWD version. It was strategically priced at this MSRP to qualify for the $7500 tax credit.
Which is great if they need to generate demand, but if they have a backlog, there is no reason to meet that tax credit threshold.

As a person who also deferred buying the FS in December I share your nervous anticipation. After so much hurry up and wait from Tesla we need to sit back and relax as the ramp continues.

With the non FS trucks on the near horizon the FS buyer pool will understandably shrivel. Tesla will have to do whatever is needed to sell those 2,500 trucks per week. I will be surprised if Tesla does not offer essentially the same AWD truck as the FS just below 80K. Sure they will make the all season tire standard and will make any other FS goodies an add on cost. The FSD cost, as I understand it, will not be added to the MSRP for rebate purposes.

For me, the gotta-have-it phase is over. When the non-FS does become available, the price will need to be right AND I will need to be able to test drive the vehicle. I cannot make a purchase without seeing if it is comfortable and I enjoy driving it. I can always just keep my Model-X.

Do I still want it? Absolutely, but it will need to be a rational decision.

RIVIAN is in a strong position now since the news of their refresh and the new price structure. Tesla will have to react well to save face. I predict very similar to advertised..

The other end is Chevy Silverado lineup.. with that insane range…
