So I took apart the frunk to access the accessory power cables and while doing that I noticed the wiper motor that was replaced due to a recall in 2025 was pretty corroded. Will do a bit of surface prep and a coating on this but anyone else that doesnt DIY, check into yours. It appears the rain water just drains right on top of this area because of the two piece gasket design. They should have made this one solid piece. Guess I'll glue these two together and call this done.

It might also be from the wiper fluid draining there, I think that stuff is somewhat corrosive.

I have the same issue. It is compounded by the fact that at 2 years of ownership the adhesive on the bottom seal is failing. So water is now entering in more places than just this gap.

I ordered a new automotive door seal based on another post in this forum, but I have yet to install it. Its a DIY solution, and I do not think it will stop water from entering the gap.

have you contacted service for a solution?
There is no solution. They will state it is normal, as long as water is not entering the frunk compartment. I’ve added a tiny piece of gasket between the two seals. Seems to be working

Had the same issue here. FS CB

I haven’t seen this on my truck (yet). The metal bracket for the wiper appears to possibly be a magnesium alloy and there clearly is a chemical corrosion action occuring. If I see it happening on mine I’ll fabricate a plastic runoff barrier so that any liquid drips/runs to the painted alloy body just below.

If clean, a spray rubber sealant would also work.

Note that the corroded area is not the window motor, but the mounting bracket. Still not great, but the motor itself is underneath.

I've already had the small rubber seal on the windshield plastic corner piece fall off. I was able to reattach it with double-sided tape.

Same here, agree windshield fluid dripping down is the most likely the culript for the corrosion and seals getting loose. I noticed I used to get blue residue on my windshield after using my wiper so thinking the fluid concentration is too high since my service center said they use tablets and mix with water so they probably don’t use enough water to mix their batches. They said the corrosion is expected but they did replace the seals. I’m now diluting the fluid reservoir a bit with distilled water after service visits if the they top it off and as the level drops to see if that reduces the issues but it’s been awhile since I’ve been behind the frunk. Time will tell…

Doesn’t look harmful but doesn’t look nice either. There is a product called boeshield t9 - clean it up and spray some on that casting and it won’t corrode again for a long time

I glued my seals back in place because they kept falling off. When I had to replace underwarranty the wiper motor the gasket connected to the plastic piece that the wiper goes through, Tesla techs had a hell of a time with that plastic piece as they broke three of them to get a new one installed. Had to glue that rubber seal to the plastic piece also. It's been a few months and holding good. Fingers crossed for the both of us.

Yeah, that sounds like a design oversight more than anything else. If water is consistently draining onto that area, sealing it better or adding protection is probably the only real fix short of a redesign. Good catch though - worth keeping an eye on it.
