Offroad Lightbar Installation at Service Center Tomorrow (Update: Delayed Due to Wrong Part)

My local Tesla service center (Knoxville TN) is installing their first ever light bar tomorrow.....on my Beast. I'll check back in tomorrow afternoon with pictures and details. They've told me they will do the full install but there is one step they are not allowed to do and informed me I will be responsible for doing that. I'll give more details tomorrow but I suspect it's simply hooking up the power supply on the roof power source.

Been following the thread but didn't see an update from yesterday's scheduled install -- Did the offroad lightbar get installed on your Cybertruck by the Service Center yesterday? If so, any pics / impressions? Thanks

I spoke to my service center yesterday. They said that these are arriving to them with a vin assigned to each light bar & a sticker of that Vin attached to each light bar

They are being shipped out based on when you took delivery

I took delivery on April 20th And was the fourth beast to be delivered in san diego

They Said it should only be another week or so

If the brightness was low enough, then it could be used the same as the daytime running bar that's currently on the CT. I couldn't find any laws limiting the height off the ground daytime running light can be. There are minimums for headlights.

From what I was told. Below the headlight light line for where I am from. Sure many places are different. That Is why all my lights are at that level or lower on vehicles I own. I get why some like the overhead light above the windshield. I don't care for it.

If you're somewhere that a high light bar has to be covered, can you put the blackout tape back on? Or is there some standard blackout tape that one can buy?

I could not imagine anything more janky than tape over lights.

It's a truck. You're supposed to look like you're from the Red Green show, even if it's an expensive truck. I mean, if you're not wearing overalls with one busted suspender and chewing on a stem of grass (or at least a toothpick), what the heck are you driving a truck for?

But like I said, sure I'd prefer a proper and elegant cover, if a cover is possible given the shape and means of attachment.

Spoke to my SC yesterday and they said these are not being installed yet and that they cannot be scheduled for installation yet as the techs have to get certified to install these and they have not done so yet.

Trust me my neck is more red than yours, and I have 5 pair of overalls. Yet I love my Tin pants more than all. Like snow pants for dirt and fire. Also real men wear suspenders. Belts are for the supervisor in the truck wearing shorts.

I don't care for elegant, but I don't like stupid looking.

Just seems like every accessory or add on was not well thought out. From wheel caps to light bars.

New light bars: I’m sure I’ve overlooked this answer, but how will one turn on/off the light bar ?
Screen Select the roof top power outlet every time??

This would be one of the only times id love to have a metal toggle switch.

You control the outlet via the screen . . Each time. My DIY installed light bar hasn’t impacted my range meaningfully. (Driven highway speeds 1,000+ miles after install.)
The LED is a possible waste for 80%+. I installed it several months ago but have only turned it on for a total of 10 minutes combined. And lights up 2 football fields. Overboard generally speaking for us “city folk”. Ha

No Model, they were also sanding the hood for a corrosion spot on the visit and called me to say they had to reorder the light bar. Tesla sent them the lower light bar in the hood. Reordered and rescheduled to the 25th. Classic Tesla service. ?

Thanks for sharing that and the update on why the lightbar hasn't been installed yet. Hopefully yours comes in soon.

Well had my light bar scheduled to be installed today, turns out they ordered me the glove box light and still no light bar ? the classic bait and switch
