Ok to have tire leak patched by general tire shop?

This may be a really dumb question but the CT is my first EV and I don't want to mess anything up.

One of my tires has a leak. Is it fine to just take it to a place like discount tire to have it patched? I assume so because the rims and tires are the same as any other vehicles, but just wanted to be sure.

Yes that would be fine , a good piece of advice is when you get new tires go back to discount tire and buy tire certs. Unless you buy your new tires from them directly.
I go there with every new vehicle and they inspect tires and offer you free repairs.

I took delivery last weekend and went there immediately to get my tire certs so if I have an issue they will fix it.

I’ve had Tesla advisors recommend using Discount Tire just to get their warranty and certs and whatnot. They straight up said not to buy new tires from Tesla directly because they won’t cover anything.

I've been told the same. American/Discount Tire is great.

I buy just the 'lifetime maintenance' that covers leaks, balancing, etc... Usually get it the first time we get the tires 'rotated' on a vehicle...

The tire 'warranty' isn't through Tesla, it's though the tire maker, so it doesn't really matter for that... Besides, they are all 'prorated' anyway...
