It appears that each time I use the self driving, the windshield wiper setting goes to “auto” and stays there until reset manually or through voice command “wiper off”. There MUST be a setting somewhere to disable this but I can’t find it. Anyone know where it is? (Responding that the wiper needs to turn off to why did self driving disengage does not prompt anything but I keep doing it hoping there will be a new option to do so. Maybe if we all complain long enough they will add the option?)

Here's what I do. Hit the wiper button; as soon as I've done that, roll downward on the left squrkle wheel. Any time you hit the wiper, the screen shows it's setting. but it's hard to look at that while driving.

I have the same issue, it is annoying and Telsa service keeps telling me it is with the engineers. The Telsa cars dont have that issue, so it cant be that hard to fix. I put it in off and it keeps going to auto and then I get dry smears across my damn windshield. AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

It's probably the most complained about thing on all Tesla cars. That and phantom braking on AP/TACC. It's not just on the CT.

Thank You, I have been complaining about this since Day 1, I get tire of telling the Car "Wiper OFF!". I saw something on You tube that Tesla activates the Wiper to Auto every time you active Auto Drive or FSD. I wouldn't care except it keeps trying to wipe a dry windshield, it super annoying. So every time I activate Cruise or FSD I just hit the Mic Button and say "Wiper Off!". I wish I had a dollar every time I say that Lol. Please make this an Option Tesla!

You can also pin the shortcut on your screen. Agreed, super annoying.

So, the new Tesla greeting can be “WIPER OFF”?

Wow, a logical explanation that eluded me. Thanks for this possible reason for this setting.

This is purely my own speculation but perhaps FSD forces on the auto wiper feature since the front windshield camera needs to be clear in order for FSD to work correctly.
Correct. Every time you use FSD it'll revert back to Auto wipers setting. You'll have to turn them off.

I use FSD for 90% of my driving and get “phantoms wipes” almost never. The interior glass in front of the camera must be very very clean.

The Commander unit fixes this kind of thing but not available for CT yet.
