Got it, so at time of purchase we should pay total amount owed -250 and should stick with it?
It wouldn’t hurt to try. It’s $250 on top of what you’re already paying. I’d be ready to pay the extra if they won’t work with you. I think we got lucky. Most folks probably just paid so they can get their truck.

So I see this 250 Order fee as well, placed an order on March 21 for FS.
Do you guys think I can contact Tesla and have it removed?

Good luck but don’t think so. I’d just be prepared to pay it. Had I known in advance it was owed I probably would’ve just paid it to get my truck. I fought them over it because I didn’t know and they made me a deal but I still had to pay it.

Not unless you want to go back on your word when you ordered it. Tesla could refuse the sale and keep the $250 if you refuse to pay the amount you agreed to.

It's clearly stated that the $250 order fee is non-refundable, even if you cancel your order.

Edit: Found a post resolving this order fee fiasco.

Tesla: "To maintain service life, the battery pack should be stored at a state of charge (SOC) of 15 to 50%."

They caught us completely off guard especially since they list it under “credits”.
That's where Tesla screwed up. In the purchase agreement they list it under credits even though you never paid it (if you were one of the earlier reservations that paid the $100 deposit instead). So they end up charging you an extra $250 when you go to make the final payment.
