For sure, I don’t assume it needed a repair or was damaged, but I view something like that as a possibility. Maybe just piss poor logistics that a VIN assigned a week or so later leaves the factory to Oregon before mine… like I said before, “it is what it is with Tesla,” unfortunately.
Tesla prides themselves on having amazing logistics. It's a difficult thing to be good at, and even the best have issues and problems to solve but, overall, Tesla knows how to work on tight timelines and make things happen. Legacy auto works on an entirely different timescale and has all kinds of inefficiencies built into their logistics. That costs customers real money. Tesla always has the lowest inventory/sales volume in the industry, the fewest amount of inventory in transit and sitting on outdoor lots. The business model is much more from the factory to the buyer without the usual months in-between.

These metrics were followed by industry analysts long before Tesla existed. Tesla came along and blew everyone else out of the water. It does lend itself to a little more uncertainty than walking around huge parking lots filled with vehicles and picking one out to take home, but you get a slightly newer car because of it. The tires are newer, the battery is newer, and the rubber trim and paint (if any) has had less UV exposure, etc.

I like the lower cost, direct from factory, business model, but it might not suit everyone.

Interesting. Again, the information just seems so erratic. What was your VIN date relative to Nurk?

Finally got to see one in person and sit in it (at the Tigard Showroom). I love it. Still a very high number so I am still 2-3 years away ?.

Salesperson stated that they have delivered 4 now in Oregon
Also, 6’4” and sit great in it. My head does is pretty much at the limit in the back, but it’s so much more cooler in person

Did they let you touch the screen?

I was at that showroom two weekends ago with my two sons and at the time you could sit inside but they didn’t want you touching anything.

I am 6’3 and fit well in the back. I was surprised that I hit the ceiling in the M3. MY and CT had very similar rear seat head room IMO.

Yes!! Previous deliveries were to Tesla Employee, Friends and Family. Starting this week is the real "customer delivery" with banner, lighting and pony show :p .
