Bit of a non sequitur. General resale value is not determined by a single person’s preference.

It is kind of odd/amusing that the SS seems to actually take more effort to keep pristine than an good paint job. I am more likely to buy a different truck for other reasons but, if I were to buy a CT, I would paint it. Maybe two tone.

It’s very easy to clean. Not hard to keep “pristine” but you could make it easier by clear wrapping it in high traffic areas. You’d save a bunch of money over painting it too.

Don’t paint, wrap it. Paint costs more, takes longer, and is harder to do (likely to cost more if you want quality). Plus we don’t know how the stainless will react to it. Wrapping when done properly is cheaper, faster, and easier to remove (if you do ppf).

Wrapping doesn't last as long as paint and is more expensive in the long run. I talked to the guy at West Coast Customs that does the wrapping for them and he told me, you can wrap with the best product and it will last about 2 or 3 years unless you keep it in the garage and out of the weather. Spending thousands every few years for a wrap doesn't make sense when a good reputable painter can paint it and make it last. Surface prepping is the key.

The good thing is when painted stainless steel starts to fail (and it will) it takes on a real "antique" look that gives it a wonderful character that is hard to replicate:

Just beautiful! This is what you should strive for! I think it will only cost around $9,000 on a vehicle as small as a Cybertruck. Totally worth it, it's a priceless look and you will have a one-of-a-kind Cybertruck, but only because every other owner is too poor and too dumb to realize what a good idea this is. A dark paint color will look more "happening" as the paint gets scratched and starts to come off. ?

I live in Canada, drive through the Rockie Mountains monthly, and do road trips often. That paint will look like that water bottle after one winter I bet

There is no guarantee that you'll have to do paint repair every year, but there is a guarantee that in the long run, you'll surpass the cost of a good paint job if you want to have your truck covered for the life of it.
