It’s terrible. Better than nothing, but I am hopeful that it will dramatically improve over time. Handy as an early warning alarm, but not to be trusted.

Yeah. It’s better than nothing but my 2016 model S has way better park assist with, I’m assuming, far less advanced hardware. Hopefully software updates improve to at least match my old S which shows exact proximity in inches.

Yeah, well no sonar pucks— just cameras. Others have speculated that they aren’t yet using front camera, which seems crazy and yet plausible.

Your 2016 has USS, which are far more accurate than vision with slow speeds, but there are downsides to USS like low curbs or blind spots.

I don't know if camera only systems will ever be as accurate to where inches can be shown accurately. Vision park assist has been out for about a year and a half. It's gotten a bit better, but not much on my other Teslas and tests I've seen online.

I’m getting the same accuracy with Tesla Vision. As others have mentioned, previous models equipped with proximity sensors are much better at providing visual feedback.

Tesla would be able to improve the visuals if they provide a 360 view but I believe the 360 view may be proprietary to Ford.

Nissan owns that patent.

But Tesla doesn't have the proper camera position to do it the way others do when that patent expires.

My cameras must be positioned perfectly because my park assist (even the front camera orientation) is dead on.

Yeah, I do far better because I turned the chimes off and use my eyes. Use the back bumper as your guide, I now have it down quite well. Tesla Vision blows!

I’ve been pretty impressed with park assist so far. Actual distance measured was 17 inches.

Wow… there are no USS on the CyberTrucks? I just figured they hadn’t been enabled via software yet. Didn’t bother to even look for them.

I am enjoying it as it plants me right in the middle of a parking slot…spot on. There is an extra margin of cushion up front but I would rather the pendulum swing in that direction versus the other. Maybe baby steps but you guys who have it are only a handful in the fleet and are the Beta testers so your opinions count.

I wonder if the vertical calibration of the cameras and/or the suspension height setting changes the accuracy of the vision-based parking. Without stereoscopic vision it’s got to be hard to determine distance other than using something like edge detection and angle of declination, so maybe they are playing it ultra-conservative until they have a chance to collect a bunch of training data.
