I get the phantom wipes occasionally, however, one "feature" (or bug) that I absolutely can't stand is that my windshield wiper reverts to "AUTO" every time I engage FSD and then turn it off. Then it startles me when it "dry wipes" when I'm not expecting it. It seems to me that this would be very easy to fix in a software update but perhaps it just got overlooked as I cannot see ANY reason for this to persist after FSD has been disengaged.

I use FSD everyday and haven't had a dry wipe problem for a long time. I did get a dry wipe or two a couple weeks ago but not enough to lose any sleep over.

FSD requires autonomy to clear its field of view
I was on FSD and it was raining and it's still cut FSD out. I don't imagine unsupervised FSD in a cyber truck, ever.

Front camera clean by Tesla service recently. I now only get dry wipes on overcast, cloudy days. Windshield in front of the camera and elsewhere is clean so I'm assuming this is a software problem at this point.

FWIW - The dry wipes went from super annoying and very frequent to only happening under this one weather condition.

Anyway to raise attention to Tesla for this issue? I'm guessing its a training issue for the CT. Service center is worthless to contact. X maybe?

Does it phantom wipe at all, or more frequently, when left on “auto” and not using FSD?

I’m assuming there’s a voice command to turn auto off. It would really suck to be manually turning it off with the screen then have an accident or whatever and pile pain onto the annoyance.

I feel ya. Wipers in the age of Rain-X are super annoying. And the setting; I feel the same way about recirc set to auto (by an umbrella mode, like defrost), and left that way until you realize it’s not on recirc because the cabin is full of exhaust fumes.

There must be a suggestion box somewhere in Tesla to promote ideas that rank with the great stuff they already do on the regular. No?

Good thing FSD subscription comes with Tesla shipping you a new wiper every 60 days......at least they should.

this is extremely annoying here as well. And as everybody knows, it’s not just a wipe, it’s a huge thrump thrump By a 3 foot blade…

The voice command is "wiper off". I use it all the time as soon as I put it into FSD, but it is annoying when I forget. I understand why it defaults to "on" when you engage FSD, but I wish it didn't. With the angle of the windshield, the CT almost doesn't need a wiper at all... almost.

I have found that it is easier(at least for me) to add the wiper icon on the bottom tool bar. This way when I turn on fsd it's two clicks to turn off....a little faster than voice. But there are times where as soon as I turn on fsd button it's wipes. There are times I rage yell at the truck/Tesla once it wipes. LOL

LOUDER!!! The windshield wiper behavior in general is by FAR my least favorite part of the CT. I have tint on my windshield that squeaks when it's dry - not fun. Everything else is best in class.
