It's cool, but I can't say it would be worth the risk of a lawsuit.

Very nice, I'm thinking of doing a full polish also. Really like the CyberBeast logo. Do you know where this was done and costs?

Also don't understand comments about lawsuits - nothing about a polished vehicle could result in any kind of lawsuit. Those that believe all of the panels are flat are incorrect.

I am not a lawyer, but:
  • There are already polished steel vehicles on the road today
  • Many cars have chrome trim pieces outside
  • All sides of the CT angle towards the ground and will not reflect headlights back to a car
Granted, anyone can sue for any reason, I think its very unlikely.

I love it and I am seriously considering it. But the same thing that is keeping me from doing a glossy wrap is keeping me from this. The side panels are not flat, or even consistently curved. They create a fun house mirror effect. Its not the end of the world, but it bothers me enough to dissuade me.

Maybe if I saw a reflective CT in person I would change my mind.

Polished big rig tankers are rounded or tufted, thus mitigating glare. But that's beside the point really, because those tankers exist for function rather than form.

People are already foaming at the mouth to shamelessly vandalize and otherwise harass people driving these trucks. Blinding everyone on the road AND (ironically) making yourself much harder to see (in certain lighting conditions) is going to absolutely compound the issue.

If enough people do this to the truck, it's going to cause massive issues and probably legislation. Not something we want.

FUD, just like so many things posted and written about the Cybertruck. Nobody is getting sued over their polished Cybertruck.
You call it FUD because I'm mentioning the hazard of polishing a vehicle to the highest reflectivity mirror finish? You can't sit there with a straight face and tell me there isn't a valid concern here.

They are not flat on purpose. James May discusses this in his review...its was news to me when I watched it. They have slight curve to create a tiny optical illusion.

That is not what is going on here. The curve is to try and address the waviness and add strength with arches, but it persists. It is very hard to get completely flat surfaces, just look at the side of any cargo trailer. The only thing that can be done is to go thicker, which has its own disadvantages, primarily weight and cost.

What you can see in my screenshot and any CT, including mine, is that the panels are not flat, or just convex, they are wavy in certain spots. Normally its only visible in the reflections, which is why I prefer Satin or Matte finishes.

Again, I need to see one of these mirrored or chromed CTs with my own eyes. It could be that it wouldn't bother me in person, but in pictures it does. OPs CT and others like it look awesome and I would love to do something similar.
