This is the original Helios House gas station built in 2007. It was designed as a green station with special features and was considered to be the "station of the future." It was the first gas station in the world to be submitted for LEED certification. It began life as a BP branded site and later became an ARCO branded station. Wouldn't you think the "station of the future" would have Tesla SuperChargers? That was only 14 years ago and we had not heard of Tesla yet.

The station's roof is designed of triangles made from recycled stainless steel and contains cacti and 90 solar panels. This reduces the energy consumption of the station by 16%. The station's roof is drought tolerant and collects water for irrigation. Silly oil company trying to be green!
