Tesla had stated that powershare for powerwall owners would be enabled in Q3/2025 - just a bit over a week to go and no news as of yet to be found.

Being in a rural area that has the highest fire ratings in northern california this is a big deal.

When a fire happens in the area PG&E cuts the power for safety.

My only defense is to keep my well working so we have water to defend the house/property.

The ability to count on the cybertrucks to provide substantial additional power (we bought 2) was a major deciding factor is switching from our diesel life.

C'mon Tesla - flip the switch for us powerwall owners!

Amen @speedstuff
A few trips around the sun have taught me that typically, people who have already handed over money typically stand in line behind those still waiting to do so unfortunately.

No they date "LATER IN 2025" on the site/page still. Nothing about Q3.

Annoying as was soon in 2024, then in 2025, now later in 2025. Been waiting 1.5+ years.

They should just edit it to “later”.
Save them some html work.

At least it's mentioned in the app now as not available yet under home info.

I've lost confidence in them. The Energy team responded to an email from me last March with "soon" but that means nothing really.

Maybe I should have just agreed to the half ass gateway solution along with my powerwall install.
Bought a cybertent instead.
OP, since your situation is pretty high stakes, why not install a cheap manual transfer switch so you can power off the 240v in the bed?
Seems like you need that as insurance more than most of us.

I guess I don’t understand the delay at this point, I too am waiting and with relatively expensive truck and solar setup I would hope they would get this worked out.

It’s likely the most complex thing they have attempted to do with the powerwall software wise and like “charge on solar” requires two different programming teams to work together.
I am almost certain the people who write software for cars are not the same people who do that for Tesla energy.
Then there is the matter of regulatory stuff. If anything goes wrong with this, some lineman could get fried and there will be no coming back from that.

I think the other option at this point is to install a connection behind our gateway's ATS? Then manually plug the truck in and turn on? E.g. should work for any V2H EV then...

Where in the app does it say not available yet? Not that it really matters. Just curious because in my app it just says home not connected even when I have PowerShare Home Backup turned on and the CT is plugged into UWC. I have solar and Powerwalls, just for clarity.

It’s smart business. The federal tax credits expire by end of this year. They want to sell as many power walls as they can before that, since after December the demand for power walls will decrease.

And adding functionality to the powerwall somehow hurts sales?

Not every solar set up has power walls and people have solar panels which are not Tesla would buy powerwalls if still a tax benefit. From Teslas perspective, what’s the hurry, after December is no big deal

And from left field- anyone watching enphase solution that's coming mid 2026?

The wall charger with vehicle to home and vehicle to grid that uses a wall charger and meter collar.

Edit follow up. I got on the list to be contacted. They are estimating a parts/installation price of $5,000.
