I am going to do that exact same thing in July end. I have Tesla service appointment on 29th July.
They might replace my hood, due to a cosmetic dimple on the metal. "IF" they do it which I doubt, then I will loose all effort on it.

I did Black Vinyl and will be doing PPF (DIY) on Front Panel and Hood. Probably it will cost around 100 $ tops

Where can u buy some Mate PPF cheap ?

I purchased last time from ebay/amazon for small portion which I wanted to wrap on my Model Y, the seller "claimed" it was XPEL and over charged me (it was NOT XPEL for sure, but product was so so)... this time I did not fall for it. I went for some generic PPF, thinking in any case Vinyl will not last more than 3-4 years, if PPF lasts that much its more than fine. You will find many sellers on ebay, I used this guy (dont know much), have not tried his product yet.
