Chrome films tend to be like that. This must be one of those "it looks way different in person" mods because it looks the exact same to my untrained eyes
I think it's the mostly because folks want to try a different color, but also stainless steel isn't stainless. It's a bit of a fingerprint magnet, can stain and get etched and get scratched but it does take a little to a lot longer to rust.It seems like a lot of folks are filming the truck. We finally have a crazy stainless really tough truck and all these folks really want to cover it in a material that is a fraction of the hardness of the stainless?
This is PPF film. It has no air release and is wet installed, by design.my take away from that video was - FFS please put the heat gun and spray bottle down - aarrgghhh.
So much fluff to make it look more complex than a flat surface needs. The guy even jokes about cutting against non-existent paint.
I also love that the Stek website mentions the "caliper" of the installers![]()
I put the best 3M clear film I could buy on the front my new Corvette to ward off paint chips. It did a great job for that, but after a few years it it was noticeably yellowed and had begun to crack and looked ugly. The film protected the outer edges of the mirrors, but the film itself was badly scuffed. It cost me more to take it off than it did to put it on. Never again will I keep film on a car more than two or three years. It seems like a lot of folks are filming the truck. We finally have a crazy stainless really tough truck and all these folks really want to cover it in a material that is a fraction of the hardness of the stainless?
I want a black Cybertruck, so that is why I am wrapping it.It seems like a lot of folks are filming the truck. We finally have a crazy stainless really tough truck and all these folks really want to cover it in a material that is a fraction of the hardness of the stainless?
