My cybertruck will be left outdoors in hot S. Florida, can't fit in my garage. I would like to know from people that are in the same situation as myself. I want to know if satin black vinyl will hold up OR do I need to go with a PPF? The reason I favor vinyl is in case I get bored and want to change color in a year, few $ less than PPF. Thoughts?? thank you

If you think you'll be changing it often then vinyl should be fine. A good brand of vinyl will last a few years in the sun, and protecting it with a coating will help even more.

For me, vinyl all the way. It's easier to remove, inexpensive, and a great way to mix things up. But I'm also not after a lifetime solution either.

I just DIY with this, they have a huge selection and are very affordable.

If you are going with satin or matte wrap than Gyeon Q² Matte EVO would be a good choice for the ceramic coating

Subject: PPF vs. Vinyl Wraps: Which Is Right for Your Cybertruck?

We offer both vinyl and PPF for DIY or professional installation, so let's break down the differences:

PPF vs. Vinyl Wraps:

  1. Installation Time: Both PPF and vinyl wraps require a similar amount of time to install. However, with PPF, it’s best to let it sit overnight, making it easier to tuck all the edges.
  2. Ease of Installation: PPF, especially with air release channels, can often be applied by a single person as it’s easier to maneuver on the panel you’re covering. With the vinyl wrap it is highly recommended to have at least 2 people for a better finish. If you want to know why please reply back and I will tell you why one requires 1 person and the other 2.
  3. Color Options: Vinyl currently offers more color options due to its 10-year head start, but PPF is quickly catching up. This year, we expect to see more color choices with PPF, which could eventually make vinyl wraps less popular, except for window trims.
  4. Longevity: There’s no comparison here. I've seen matte vinyl wraps oxidize within three months near the beach, whereas PPF can look brand new even after 8 years. Vinyl not only has a shorter lifespan, but it also starts showing wear and tear within a few months, which can make your car look aged and cheap.
  5. Cost: Pricing varies based on the brand and color. For example, we currently offer a full-body pre-cut PPF kit in satin black for $1,899, while a full roll of vinyl wrap costs $899.
I hope this helps make your decision easier!
