I’ve been debating vinyl vs ppf for a while. Seems with vinyl it’s best to ceramic coat to avoid fingerprints etc. given vinyl plus ceramic gets pricey, it’s close to cost of just doing ppf which seems way more durable. Not worried about the truck, but about vinyl chipping.

is there any reason not to go with ppf?
After 20+ years in the industry, I see no reason to choose vinyl wraps over paint protection film (PPF) unless PPF doesn't have your exact color choice or you want to save a bit of money, knowing you'll need to replace the wrap more frequently.

Vinyl wraps often need to be replaced annually and can be much more expensive to remove, with some shops even refusing to do it. PPF, on the other hand, holds up better, is easier and less time-consuming to remove, and leaves the surface in much better condition.

I wound up doing both, still not finished with the work and will post a more detailed view on what we did when complete. Went with vinyl on the base then did clear PPF over all of the black and front of car.

I have a vinyl wrap and my installer guarantees it will look good as new (as long as you take care of it) for 5 years. He said if it looks like crap in 4 years, he will replace it. I am also in South Carolina, so he stated in different climates it might be better for PPF.

How hard is DIY on the CT?’ The videos on YouTube indicates it’s easy but I think it’s still hard.
If you're considering vinyl wrapping or installing PPF yourself, the CT is one of the easier vehicles to wrap. I suggest getting a couple of friends to help, but don't expect a professional finish, as experience makes a noticeable difference.

We've also created a precut kit pattern for your fender flares that gives them a deeper black color, similar to bedliners. This looks much better than the cheap grey ones currently on the market.
