Totally agree. I’m a day 1 tri-motor reservation holder. I see no CT in my future given the price. I’m 110% disappointed in the event and the hidden price reveal.
get the dual then. that's what I'll be doing with my #1128Xxx Tri reservation.

I think a problem is that the >$75k sport/baja truck market isn't all that big. Hard to sell people trucks when they don't have the money.
plenty of contractors i know have ICE trucks in that price range or higher.... the dual will get their business.

"Edmunds shows that the average MSRP for the full-size truck segment is $65,158 and $76,281 for heavy-duty trucks."

Cybertruck dual motor price and range is very similar to Rivian R1T dual motor.
Let's see what Chevy can do with thier Silverado EV.

Need to tow highly un-aerodynamic trailer (most RV travel trailers, etc.) long distance? Maybe Ramcharger is the interim solution.

I was a day 1 tri-motor. I'm out at even the dual price.
That said, I hope it does well and that they sell heaps of them.
I am an AWD reservation holder. I am very disappointed with the price (and range). I knew the CT wouldn't come in at the 2019 advertised prices and was all in if the price came in at $60 - $65K range. I'm keeping my reservation for now in the hopes that the prices come down in the next year or 2. If not, I will request a refund. This was a strong WANT for me, not a NEED.

I also was super disappointed with the pricing. I was hoping tri-motor would fall just under the $80k federal credit. I am a day-one reservation holder of a tri-motor, right around 7000 in line. I hope to change it to the dual-motor once I am invited to configure my CT. I am afraid the dual-motor wouldn't get the nice rims and maybe that is why the range is better. I won't be able to upgrade them either because that would push me over the $80k. I guess I'll have to wait and see. I am sure I have at least 4-6 months.

it's true normal cars depreciate over time, but normal cars don't have a CEO that needs to make numbers so he slashes the price of new vehicles 10k occasionally which immediately depreciates the value of your car even more quickly.
You say that like it’s a bad thing!

Sure but is that common enough to sell the truck? I personally don't know anyone who owns a vehicle more expensive than maybe.... $40k
with people i know, it's very common. 40k is where they start looking and 80k isn't unusual.

I had similar views and bought a new 2021 TRX after CT got delayed. It’s now worth $8Kmore than I paid for it.

I’m going to go fwd with the CT Beast but will likely pay dearly in depreciation when I selling in a few years.

Agreed on the performance being impressive, but range very disappointing
CYBERBEAST is 'Back To The Future' CLASSIC....TODAY!!!!
In '86 the Australian 356 Porsche Registry was created with an understanding of what was to come. I see today as l did back then when l was 27.....CYBERBEAST l'm confident, WILL appreciate or at least be appreciated by the second hand 'CAR' market so you'll do OK on the resale. imho

Did someone say 'RANGE EXTENDER'
Yes, l do understand that if you really have the NEED to 'ELON_GATE' what you already have, it's gonna cost you a pretty penny. $16K for a BIG 'six Pack' (50 kWh)....

I know there are a lot of disappointed with price increase but the dual motor is inline with a Rivian R1T and Ford Lightning. The Tri motor compares to any premium truck. A Ford Platinum F250 with Powerstroke will cost over $100k and TRX around $120k

The masses may believe millions are gonna ask for a refund and that may be true, but whether you agree or not, not everyone thinks the same or are in the same position as folks asking for a refund. The millions who are gonna request a refund already gave Tesla a five year interest free loan. Tesla can give them their $100 back and keep the difference ?.
Fair enough. :)
