Same. Nothing would make me say "new VIN" faster than the need for a replacement battery before delivery.

My original order was back in lateMarch. I received a VIN within 2 weeks and had a production date of 4/20. My VIN ended in 939XX. The PAWD CT arrived at the SC early May and was immediately put on Containment hold. After a lot of back and forth texting and phone calls that came up empty as to why, I finally went in to talk about it. My delivery manager finally admitted that it was a battery issue and that the full battery pack needed to be replaced. I don't blame him, as he was kept in the dark by corp for quite some time. It was frustrating. He offered two options: 1) wait for a new battery pack to arrive or 2) order a new truck. Based on my understanding of the number of CT's that were on Containment hold and the unknown ETA of a new battery pack, I opted for a new VIN. This was the best way to go IMO. Today I picked up my new CT and am very happy!! It added another 30 days to the wait, but it was worth it.

For me, it can be in the same order. I complained enough today that they finally propose the option to remove my existing vin and allow for new vin match,. I was like you kidding me? They cannot guarantee the new vin will come in before August ( asssume as if you make new order so it’s sept/oct time frame). So I decided to give it another month of wait. If the delivery window basically slip into August, I will then ask for a new VIN and don’t mind to pick up the truck in 2027. After all by that time, the wait already ruined my summer road trip plan. Like you were sayings freshly baked out of the oven.

They used my original order date, which automatically put me at the front of the line. That is why I received my new VIN within days of my visit to the SC.

They tried the same for my order too but were unable to achieve that. My VIN stayed same after being removed momentarily for a few seconds on the app.

If you don't mind the additional wait, maybe ask them to give it couple tries again for this.

Is your VIN late 93k or early 94k? since you ordered way earlier than most of us in Feb?

thanks for sharing. Mine is like mid 94k and ordered 3/28. Pretty frustrated and trying to understand how does tesla handle entire production/logistic process.
