Have my $59k truck coming sometime in September (hopefully). In the meantime I test drove a premium for about 3 hours the other day. One thing that stuck out like a sore thumb was the delay in changing drive/reverse direction.

At one point I did a U turn at a light and it didn’t quite make it, so I had to go into reverse and then back into drive quickly to complete the turn as traffic was headed toward me. Honestly was not impressed how long this took. A real emergency scenario might have ended up in a collision.

Is there a trick to this that i am missing?

Using overhead controls is quicker than the screen for sure. But you have to train yourself to use that so it becomes muscle memory.

What???? In two years of owning one I've never been in a "oh shit", I cant shift "d to r to d to r" fast enough. First off, the turning radius rarely puts you in a situation where this kind of Austin Powers back in forth is necessary. I'm not even sure there is a delay in the first place.
