On May 7, 2025, I received an email stating that Tesla would not sell the Range Extender and that my deposit would be refunded. This sudden change constitutes a misrepresentation or fraudulent inducement and is grounds for a misrepresentation claim. I—and likely others—relied on the promised Range Extender when deciding to purchase the $135,000 Foundation Series Cyberbeast vehicle. Without the Range Extender, the recommended effective daily charging range is 240 miles at 80% charge, which is significantly lower than the 450 miles promised with the Range Extender.

I would not have purchased the Cyberbeast without the promised range increase from the Range Extender.

Is there any support and momentum among the club to move forward with a class-action claim for misrepresentation?

I have an AWD and on 35” all terrains at highway speeds I’ve gotten 370 miles of real-world highway range without stopping.

Good luck with your project.

Join the club of those of us who bought CT with “autopilot included” only for them to switch the feature to “TACC included”. Your best bet is to start with [email protected] and see if they will help you feel better. Im no lawyer but remember- you signed an arbitration agreement when you bought your vehicle. Unless you opted out or are seeking to file a consumer protection case (which will likely not be class action) you have to go with arbitration as your legal proceeding.

Why'd you pay 135?

That's weird, I didn't think the Cyberbeast has that much range difference from the Dual Motor. I can get over 300 miles without even trying.

So here's my serious answer.

First off, class-action does not benefit you the way you clearly think it does. If you have a good claim, you are much better off as an individual than joining a class. A class action lawsuit results in a team of lawyers making big bucks over many years, and each person that joins the class ends up getting a paltry sum after the lawyers are paid.

Secondly, to win any case you need to have to have a good claim of damages, expressed as dollars. What are your damages for them not selling you a product that you didn't pay for? Sure, you can argue that you wouldn't have bought the vehicle with the knowledge that this add on accessory wouldn't be available. But that didn't cost you anything. You paid for a vehicle equipped exactly the way you were charged. Others have deemed that the price you paid was fair market value. You have no damages.

Just my opinion, but good luck.

No disrespect, but we’re 7 months after the date you are saying is the notice that started this thought process. This is going to look like an attempt for you to ditch a vehicle. Let it go, this is a small fish big pond scenario you will not win.

Someone needs to invent a bot that can post your comment verbatim, anytime someone on the internet types the phrase ‘class action’.

This a great argument to extend the FUSC free unlimited supercharging to all foundation series as compensation.
I was one who ordered the range extender as well. BIG Disappointment they cancelled and refunded it. Only to find out after, now offering free unlimited charging with new Cybertrucks. 😒 That stung bad! But feel betrayed and slightly violated 😂 in a weird way as well. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Once bitten twice shy sorta way.
Don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love my truck. My last and only new truck was in 1998 dodge ram quad cab 2500 Cummins 12v. I still have it. 😉
That would be amazing if Elon did grandfather free unlimited super charging for all foundation series.

That amount included my sales Tax in California. Thank you for asking.

Thank you for the feedback. I am not a lawyer, so your input and clarification is very much appreciated.

I agree 1000%
Mine was 129,876 here in Florida with 7 percent tax. Cali is probably higher.

People are debating my vehicle cost, the exact number is $135,293.33

This is how I have felt from day one, after cancelling the Range Extender. I love my truck also. I want free unlimited supercharging as compensation for reneging on the promise. Tesla is currently offering a LUXE PACKAGE for new truck orders, which includes lifetime supercharging.

I say this with kindness.

A lawsuit filed for this will not survive a motion for summary judgement.

I say it with kindness in the hope that logic prevails over feelings. You would be wasting not only your time but the idiot lawyer that would be so inexperienced or such a sycophant that he’d actually file something like this. There is no valid possibility of any kind of success on the merits of what is being asserted because there is no lawsuit here.

How anyone “feels” about a business decision to NOT go to market is absolutely in-actionable.

Be good to yourself (and everyone else) and don’t waste your time.
