I don't know why they have it as stainless steel, I'm 100% sure mine are not stainless steel. Not sure if they're changing something in production.

Mine have been on the CT for about 4 days. So far, they're working as intended. They were shipped folded. I unfolded them the other direction prior to applying them to the bumper. There are some extremely light bumps where the folds were but I'm confident the summer heat will flatten them over time.

Abstract Ocean posted a video of their impressions of the Tesla one, and they were less than impressed. Hopefully they'll introduce their own version soon. Otherwise, I'll look into the EV Vida set when my CT gets here.
I watched the video. While I do agree that these should’ve been a lot better executed, I think he (guy from the video) did a pretty poor job at the install. It should clearly be positioned in line with the aft edge of the bumper rather than tucking it in on the forward edge and leaving the gap on the finished edge. If you look at OP’s photos, his install looks much more aesthetically pleasing.

My Tesla bumper protectors came with the same fold marks but after rain and washing the car they look perfect.

Not sure if it's come kind of self healing or the water and soap moisturized them. They darkened up as well. I really like them.

This is the best you can have for bumpers. Take it from a Jeep guy who gets scratches all the time when I off-road. Give your bumper a spray of this and even when you get a scratch. It keeps it looking brand new.:

Tesla Cybertruck Rear Bumper Protectors (from Official Tesla Shop) installed photos 1714957035974-u

I once had a lady scrape my bumper when she was pulling out of her parking place. She ran over with her insurance and super apologetic. I looked at it and it was a scratch... no dent. I just looked at her and said "No worries, I'll take care of it." She was like "Are you sure??". Yep. Came home... whipped out the spray... a few short shots of it and it was like nothing happened. This stuff is great.

I reached out to EVVida. Their upcoming rear bumper protectors are indeed stainless steel. The TPE version they sent me is in R&D. They do not yet have plans for next steps. But I informed them that a few members have already expressed interest especially after disappointed with the Tesla version.

I refuse to care about patina resulting from normal use. But if those bumpers don't prove to be as tough as the rest of the HFS (certainly they won't), this kind of "fix" is right up my alley. Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out! They look great - and was about to preorder them. But sounds like they're not 'real' for a while?

Definitely interested.

Theirs says 'matte black', but in their photos looks like a tinny gloss. I really like the way yours looks. Definitely don't want gloss.

Is this the one you have installed? Says stainless steel. Would prefer the rubber feel. The ones you have in that photo look great. Any other thoughts from your time with them?

The TPE version shown by @getsometom is a final production sample. we are currently adjusting the final surface detail of our mold to make it look even better and add some additional anti-slip patterns on the surface. so its not available yet.
and the metal one you mentioned is our another type of bumper protector, we made two version in two different material to fulfill different need.

Thanks for the clarification! Any ETA on when the rubber version will be shipping/taking orders?

Side note: Your frunk mat is great. Got it delivered last week. I did notice you have to shape/bend the lip in the front that is near the latch hole. My mat has a tendency it seems to get over that hole a bit and prevent it from closing. Presume this will go away once that area shapes correctly over time.

I installed the Tesla product and I’m very pleased. I did let mine sit flat on the kitchen table for a few days with some plates on the folds (from packing and shipping) before I tried to install. It worked well. Like all adhesive products I cut off a portion of the backing and folded out the remaining piece. I installed the little wings first and once I was satisfied got the placement I pulled out the remaining backing. They tend to self flatten over a day or so.

I installed these rear bumper protectors offered in the Tesla shop. Even though it’s expensive for what it is, I’m happy I have those bumpers covered. I haven’t even stepped on my bumpers and they already have some scratches, and this should protect most of the surface from scratches and scuffs from stepping and using them. And they are textured to avoid slipping.

Couldn't you use it and scratch it all you want and then simply buy the covers to make it look like new before you sell it? Either way, it should come with sturdy steps in the first place. I hate that Tesla cheaps out like this.

I have the same issue with mine on the frunk. Otherwise love it!
And also wonder about an ETA for the rubber version.
Thanks! :)
