Rear ended last night. Bumper, torn, minor tailgate scratch

Got rear ended in bumper-to-bumper traffic last night. Our heads smack the head rests, but luckily no injury. The seatbelt didn't lock up, the video system didn't capture the accident, and no error messages Appeared on the screen. Am I missing something here or is the cyber truck built like a tank and can take a hit from the back in the bumper and not trigger any of those things?

There is a crush structure inside the rear bumper cover. You might want to get it checked out in case the hitch or other structure absorbed the impact.
Low speed rear end collision wouldn't normally trigger airbags since the force pushes you into the seat instead of the dash.

A collision like that feels worse than it is sometimes. Feels like getting sacked from behind, I’ve had the pleasure of both experiences.

I’d put cam record on honk so you can self select footage from sentry, I think it saves data before and after the honk. I could be wrong on this though!

There should be a video. You can tap save. This happened to me also. But the Audi that hit my CT had the grill destroyed and the CT not a scratch. Bottom line is make sure settings are ready to record anything and everything.

On your phone app, look under security where the first line is the dashcam viewer, push that and choose the date of the accident, push the trunk side and it should be there.

Follow up. They are replacing the three-piece bumper, the plastic above it, trailer hitch, and structure connected to hitch along with the rear tailgate panel. when I turn wheel back-and-forth at slow speed, Theres a noise like a loose piece knocking somewhere. Body shop also heard it, but can't locate source. I was told TESLA has to identify it and state specifically it occurred because of the collision in order for insurance to cover it. I need to find a Tesla rental.
