I’ve had a series of minor annoyances that have required service appointments. Limp mode issue while 7 hours away from home on a road trip…resolved by hard reboot, wind noises in rear passenger window (about to go in for a third attempt to resolve), frunk issues disengaging, charge port failure which required a full charge port swap, and now after that my charge port randomly opens whenever it wants as if it’s possessed. Now I have ANOTHER service appointment to resolve the random opening.

I love this truck but I’m at the point where it’s almost like I have at least one service appointment per month since I’ve owned this truck for a little over a year. Anyone else experiencing a lot of random little issues that require servicing? Am I being too anal? I kind of expect a 110k plus vehicle to be a little more trouble-free. I’m at the point where I’m considering swapping this for a different Tesla.
It’s the most fun vehicle I’ve ever owned but it seems like my cyberbeast is a needy and finicky woman.
Please no flaming, just wondering if I’m alone in the annoyance factor owning this amazing vehicle.

You arent alone.

framing your perspective of “i kind of expect a $110k vehicle to be more problem free” i think is the crux of it.

teslas cost comes from their tech, not their quality.

your issues are not uncommon but they also should not be happening.

the reality is that you bought a first generation vehicle from a manufacturer who openly states their goals are to iteratively produce high tech vehicles that “get better over time” as cheaply and efficiently as possible. The “getting better over time” only refers to software updates to your specific vehicle, but for the ones produced after yours, includes the manufacturing.

you always can ask tesla for a repurchase or file a lemon law case with your state.

ive come to terms with the fact that as long as its covered under warranty its ok and if it truely is a reproducible objective outlier problem, the SC will do everything the can to try to fix it. Not sure how im going to feel in 3 years when the warranty is running out though.

Had mine since Aug 2024 and have to say not one single issue. No noise as you mention, nuisances,or aberrations. Had a minor tonneau leak which I fixed. Better track record than the Ferrari Pista I had that had some gremlins. Only been to service for the lightbar install and front camera cleaning.

For sure the service centers have been amazing. Super helpful every time and do their best to resolve things….i kinda expected gen 1 to have some issues, its just a little different once you’re actually living with having to make appointment after appointment to get these things resolved. I think im gonna go for a drive to remind myself why I put up with all these issues 😁.

My truck has had 8 service visits, and this is my 2nd one. The first one was a repurchase. I found myself fixating on little things and building up a lot of resentment but idk i guess I've made peace with the fact that that i chose to buy another one and that the vehicle drives fine. We will see.

I went through the same thing. Realized after 1 year that I had been taking it in all the time. It was constantly needing SOMETHING fixed. Got over it and decided enough was enough. Requested they buy it back and they approved it.

I've had minor issues with my dual motor, but mostly in a dash rattle they won't fix (the vent for the little front windows) and the bass drum door. Relatively minor all things considered. 3 service visits and one of those was for the recall.

I do think the idea of paying more for a vehicle means less problems is misguided though. My anecdotal experience in my life is the more I spend, typically the less reliable a vehicle is. I've had Porsches (911 and Cayenne), BMWs (1M, M3 and M5), Cadillacs (ATS-V and CTS-V) and Alfa (Gulia QF) be absolutely abysmal, but my Fiesta ST only went in for a recall and never had a single other issue in 80k... despite being completely thrashed, raced, pushed well beyond what it should. C5/C7 Corvettes that I've had have been dead reliable (there simply isn't much tech to go wrong in them). My 18 M3P was pretty damn reliable. Had a tail light leak and the clicking rear half shafts in 75k. I bet the control arms would have gone in another 20-25k, but I didn't have that issue. I've had a few panther platform Fords (Crown Vic/Marauder) and those things will run forever while being completely abused. I find it all over the map, but I don't expect expensive to equate to reliable. If I want pure reliability, I want simple, large production volume, and relatively cheap for their segment. Prius, Y, Rav4, V8 F150, etc. That typically will get you an actually reliable vehicle.

TLDR How much you spend might have a correlation with reliability, but if it exists, it is usually less reliable with the more expensive vehicle.

I’m honestly thinking of getting a plaid…the discontinuation is giving me fomo…and all these issues are driving me a little crazy. But we’ll see. May file for lemon.

I have a CyberBeast too. May 2025 build. I’ve had zero problems with it.
I just took delivery of a new 2026 S Plaid last month. Zero problems there, too.
With the discontinuing of the S and X, I’ll probably get another S while they’re still available for ordering. The “Luxe Package” makes them an unbeatable choice.

I've had my AWD since 2024 Dec and never been to a Service Center. Will get there to check out cantrail recall when the weather warms up. No issues. 18,000 mi.

I feel you, I didn't part ways with mine, but I so related to your story.

same. I had a FS AWD for a year, traded it for a FS Beast 8 months ago. No real issues, bed readjustment on the first one, Beast had a camera recalibration when they reinstalled the off road light after a glue failure. Probably jinxed myself now.

Had my AWD sub December 2024 and have only had 2 issues: my drunk randomly opening when vehicle wasn’t locked (in my garage) and the wings noise from rear passenger door window (only when ambient temps are 27 F or lower.

For the frunk, the root cause was the frunk switch was faulty. They replaced it and it’s been fine for the past year. Maybe this is your root cause?
