Replaced Goodyears with Falken Wildpeak AT4W tires -- review & photos

I’d caution you on running those wheel covers with aftermarket tires. Even if, at rest, the covers aren’t contacting the sidewall, they’ll definitely dig into them when cornering.

You should probably just get center caps if you aren’t buying the special-sauce Tesla/Goodyear tires.

My Cybertruck has been sporting Falken Wildpeak A/T4W's all winter paired with Martian Cyberrover wheels. The tires are amazing in the snow and rain. I have not driven them offroad, but they are a solid tire and I would expect them to be great. Road noise is slightly louder, especially at higher speeds, but honestly not that much more than stock Goodyears. I have driven them on the highway and there is a slight range hit but not bad.

Would I buy them again? Absolutely!

I wanted to give a quick review of the tires my tire guy recommended for me based on my usage which is 90% freeway, 5% city and 5% off-road fun. My Goodyears didn’t last 25k so I wanted something with a warranty. I replaced my previous Teslas’ tires always claiming the warranty by filling out a form. I’m used to Teslas going through tires at 20k but I drive more than that per year so I am trying to avoid paying $2500 a year for the OEM.

These Falken (Sumitomo) Wildpeak AT4W met my specs and weren’t expensive. Based on the pros and cons I will list below, I don’t think I would choose them again but I wanted to tell what I know on this forum so you can make an informed decision.

Pros:
Very grippy on rocks and roads. Haven’t tried snow or sand yet.
Looks better than Goodyears- like it seems to fit the truck better.
65,000 mile warranty
Tire guy says it has more plies than the Goodyears which should prevent punctures.
$400 per tire vs $550 for Goodyear

Cons:
Drive quality is a little stiffer.
Very loud inside and outside truck when compared to the Goodyears with the foam insert.
Seems heavier so I anticipate a range loss but I don’t know how I am going to test that. My average range Is affected by so many factors.

Conclusion: I will do more research next time. I think the $150 per tire savings is not worth the extra noise. I will see how these wear down and make a better informed decision knowing the noise factor is a bigger deal to me than I thought.

Have you had them in heavy rain with standing water. The stock AT are not great in that.

Do you plan to run them all year? I’d be interested to see how they do and what they look like at the end of the summer if you do. Thankful for all the humans that are helping us figure out what tires are best for the things we want to do. Tire reviews are nice and can help you figure out some things but real like user data is valuable!

Good info. Thanks for sharing. But also, the wheel covers look terrible with these tires. Without the integration of the wheel covers to the tire design, it’s just not as cool.

I’m running them now. But not sure I will on long road trips this summer.
