Replacement windshield order slow to arrive

On October 30, Safeco in Portland, Maine, an authorized Installer and affiliate for Tesla, ordered a replacement windshield for my cyber truck, which was damaged by someone, throwing an object 2 miles from the pick up location in Paramus New Jersey. Since that time, Safeco still has not received the replacement windshield. They said today the estimated delivery date is December 11. My question for others is , this typical for Tesla to be so slow in shipping parts to their affiliates repair companies? That’s gotta change! In the meantime, I am driving an non-inspected vehicle. Oh, living life dangerously.

Hurricane Helene dropped a 40 foot maple tree on my CT windshield sep 28, had my truck in for repair Oct 1, got it back last Friday nov 29th. Almost exactly 2 months. I've heard ICE cars have had recent parts backorders also, varies by make/model and part types. Don't know why. CT windshields weigh a lot (so transport logistics may contribute), probably priority is given to new trucks on assembly line. Sympathies to you, been there.

Yep, every brand across the board is dealing with the aftermath of supply chain disruptions.
