I my wife’s ex so I’m in the same rig you are 2023 Model S Plaid and in my case it’s been mostly buttery smooth. I’m going to refer to it as a stutter than a stab and I experienced that one time and I understood why it was happening it was being a little bit hesitant coming out of a parking lot into fast moving traffic. It’s not a move that I’m particularly silky smooth with all the time myself and I don’t care sometimes I’ll get the timing wrong or somebody will do something unpredictable that’s just life.

I wonder if it has something to do with regional differences in driving. I’m genuinely curious as to the cause of discrepancies between our experiences.
So I experienced the little stutter too and I found it sort of reassuring oddly enough. Probably because of when it happens. Like a sign that it recognizes some kind of danger or out of the ordinary circumstances and is thinking about it, considering the options.

Same. It’s human-like. And like you said I didn’t wanna go full misogynist, but let’s just say I’ve experienced much much worse. I already threw my granny under the bus so we’ll just leave it at that.

Pretty positive we drive like that too. I just happen to have the most experience as my wife’s passenger and she happens to be female. Didn’t really intend that to be a gender comment even if it sounded that way.

Me neither except for my little baby nephew it’s just me and my dad in three generations of our extended nuclear family so I don’t have anything else to compare to and don’t ride around with a lot of dudes driving me. My wife is a very good driver but she’s pretty stabby!!

So, maybe my experience in the long range x isn’t as jabby as the s plaid because it doesn’t have enormous hair-trigger brakes and bonneville drag racing accelerator pedal?
Maybe it doesn’t know the difference yet?

Shrug. Tomorrow will be my third day with it so I’ll see what it looks like but so far I really don’t have any complaints I’m mostly blown away.

We just got 14.1.4 yesterday. Pretty amazing to sit in your garage and hit the start FSB button on screen, and not touch the wheel until parked at a store. We too would like to be able to dial back the max speed. Maybe in a future update. I'm guessing the CT's won't get this for a while now.

FSD v 14.1.4 in Model X is breaking frequently and just hit the brakes while approaching a green light. I was on the phone with her when I heard a thump, which she said was the car slamming on the brakes, even though there were no cars in front or behind her, and the light was green. I would like to roll the car back to v13, but I think that's not possible. I'm worried someone is going to hit her in the rear. I may switch my CT from advanced software updates to standard until Tesla gets this fixed.

I believe that all of you are reliable witnesses here so I don’t understand why there’s such a discrepancy all the time between vehicles and experiences.

Yeah. Me neither. I’m in then right now and it’s still flawless

I felt the first “stabbing” (wrong word, IMO, but it gets the point across) occurrence twice today in my MY with v14. Both were justified, if not “human-like”. One was when a cyclist looked like he was about to cross the road and the other was when a car came zooming up to a stop sign. The cyclist was definitely not going to cross into the street so the braking was understandable but a little aggressive. The braking from the car zooming up to the stop sign was totally justified—I would have done the same thing. Overall, though, the drive was flawless. I think a huge hurdle here is actually trusting the FSD to do its thing, which is difficult for most people, especially if they’ve been driving for 20+ years. It’s literally a control issue. It’s not dissimilar to a passenger hitting the phantom brakes when they’re with a driver they don’t quite trust. I recently drove from Colorado Springs back home to NorCal and left it in FSD 98% of the time. By the end, I was VERY comfortable with it. As I mentioned in a previous post, I need to put a sticker on the display that says “Let go, let FSD”. (This will only be funny, or not, to current or former Christians.)

I just experienced my first pull over for EMS in the x. Amazing. Scared me at first because I didn’t understand what it was doing but it was incredibly well handled.

The roads I drive on have a ton of patch work and aren't in great shape. Maybe it's due to the pothole detection, but V13 would drive smoothly over them...V14 goes crazy.

I have seen a lot of complaints about frequent hard braking, but some people say it's better. It's not good in my Model X with v 14.1.4. My experience with V13 in both the CT and X has been nearly flawless, though others may disagree. It is weird that people have different experiences.
