Just picked up my new 2024 Cyberbeast FE this past wednesday. Went up to the mountains, and while in the winding roads, the steering wheel began making a loud squeak while taking right turns.

Anyone had this happen?

After getting home, I saw the steering wheel visually leaving a mark on the steering wheel columb plastic when turning the wheel to the right.

Filed a ticket with tesla, it seems something must be not perfectly aligned, since when turning left there is no noise nor mark.

Cheers,

Yea, had an issue where mine was making noise when turning left, IIRC. It was the pleather coming off the back of the steering wheel, folding up, and rubbing on the column plastic. All I did was turn the wheel to expose the flap and push down to reseat the glue. Hasn’t been an issue since. <knocks on wood>

I had the same thing since the day I had mine. Brought it into the SC and it's all fixed. Not sure what they did. They told me they adjust it.

Sounds good, I'm confident they'll fix it. Minor issue really but sounds awfully loud lol

Had the same problem. It was the two plastic housings on the steering column. I was just going to run some sanding paper between the two housings. Took it to the service center and they fixed it in about half an hour. Turns out the just ran some sanding paper between the housings.

I have the same problem but not as loud. Mobile maintenance tried to fix it with no success. Have been living with it for over a year. It needs a fix with parts that provide more of a gap between moving parts.

Had the same issue. Easy fix. It was the 2 pieces of plastic that move in and out when you adjust the steering wheel. The tech put a piece of plastic to act as a bushing. No sounds now. I would think all the service guys would know about this as it seems quite a common problem.

I had the same issue develope about two months after I first got my CuberTruck. Took it in for service and the fixed (adjusted the covers).. but now it is starting to slowly creep back in again.. not nearly as annoying as it first was, so time will tell.

For what it's worth - I've done a few demo drives now (trying to decide on purchasing one). One with a 11/24 build AWD cybertruck (white interior, cyber wheels) and one with a recent 04/25 build AWD cybertruck (grey interior, core wheels). The 04/25 build had the exact steering wheel noise you mentioned, but when turning left. Sounded like plastic on the steering wheel column was rubbing against plastic on the back of the wheel. This unit also had the drivers seat creaking noise, as well as a very noticeable motor whine that was rhythmic with speed.

The 11/24 build date demo was flawless. I think it had around 750 miles so must have been sitting before being put into demo service. The 04/25 build date demo had around 1500 miles and exhibited all the noises mentioned above.
