This list of issues with the ID.4 has been so widely published that I actively discourage friends and neighbors from even considering them. But VW has had so many issues as a company in the past few years that I wouldn't bet on them even being around a decade from now. They have to get their act together. So no, even at $50 I think it is a headache waiting to happen.
