I love rain, I like snow even more! What I can't stand are dusty, uncomfortably hot, bright days with a haze of air pollution. Rain is nature's house-cleaning. One reason I love EVs is because I love clean, unpolluted air.

The frequency with which it rains here on the West side of the Cascade Mountains is why I spent 15 minutes to fix the gasket that was allowing water to run down my truck bed. Because it rains here all the time through the cold months at sea level. In the mountains it's almost all snow. Now the bed is dry. I feel lucky that my skin is waterproof. I've found my skin can get wet with no harm done, but I want my groceries dry, especially when they are in paper bags.

The tonneau on my F-150 leaked all the time too but it had so many sources of leaks I couldn't fix them all.

Keep a big Dometic CX100 fridge cooler in back for once a week runs for cold stuff. Nice as it gets down to about 34/36 degrees during the drive there and stays on. Use to load one with ice packs but like the turn on each week when needed instead.

My grocery stores are all 5 minutes from my house. If it takes an extra 2 minutes to load and unload a cooler, my food is 3 minutes away from peak freshness. That's fine for me.

why are you so keen on grocery shopping? Life/Universe so much bigger/larger than food and Cybertruck too is too large just for grocery shopping. You definitely need Nissan Leaf old one-that's it.

I keep an electric cooler/freezer plugged in to the AC. I can toggle it on from the app while I head towards checkout. Love it.

With the bed being not waterproof, seems like a terrible place to keep groceries, unless you're absolutely certain about the weather. The frunk is also just a bit too small for the standard sized reusable grocery bags. I need to lift the back seats and put groceries there when I go shopping, honestly don't love it.

The truck bed absolutely is waterproof. I’ve had many torrential downpours and not a single drop got in the bed. I’ve also slept in the bed while it was raining and never a drop inside.

I use a 2 cargo net set up for groceries. This is an old pic. On the other side of the bed divider now sits (3) Tesla Cargo Bins. My vault bed seems to be waterproof. Never had water ingress.

There’s another fold up crate (like the one behind the Keurig box) with frozen/refrigerated items on the rear floor behind the driver‘s seat.

Dry enough. The cooler doesn't mind a drip here or there.

Your bed may be more or less waterproof, but if you use cyber bins, you have a sure-dry place to store things. They are great.
