What you need is this product except the rearward face of the delete blank is mirrored... at least you could argue "But, it IS a mirror!"

What if the rear facing side of this (opposite the orange arrows) were mirrored? It wouldn't Quite be the 126 cubic cms required to drive on federal roads...
(roughly 4"x4 1/2")
good call, rev 2.0!

Its bad enough we dont have a good rear view mirror, not about to lose the side ones too
So, I was wondering about the same thing. Unless the future upgrades include permanent view(s) on the display from the fender cameras (much like the rear view camera) I wouldn’t want to remove the side mirrors. I do love the mirrorless look, but it is not safe to not have that quick view to the sides at a split second without touching any controls. I know the cameras turn on when you turn on a blinker, but I hate that feature because it takes away my rear view. I think this needs to be addressed because it’s totally feasible to keep the rear view camera on and also open the side “mirror” view. And if the system doesn’t detect physical side-mirror connection all the views should be active.

Actually there is a camera setting that turns on both side cameras and either the front camera or the rear camera. I use it a lot because it gives a better rear camera view. The downside is that you lose your map when driving.

Not bad. I've been training myself to look at the camera screen rather than the mirrors for the day I deleted the mirrors. I almost trust myself now. I'll look into these.
I've been doing the same with the plan to eventually delete the side mirrors, but I still occasionally use the mirrors so I think I will keep them.

The perspective from the mirrors and cameras are very different. Backing up with the side view mirrors and rear camera work better than the side view cameras. Not a good idea to do IMO

Best looking one so far but the side mirrors kinda adds to the design...so torn...?
I did buy them but not installing yet. I’m digging the mirrors right now. I may have done it if the mirrors weren’t powered.

Eventually I may remove the mirrors.

Any thoughts on the rear view mirror? I heard someone post here that he eventually took it off and proved to himself that it was more of a hindrance to safety.

Ok I spent 10 minutes looking for that control and feel pretty dumb right now cause I still haven’t found it. Either that setting is well hidden or has some name that doesn’t do a good job describe its function.

Can you help us find it? Thanks.

There is a little icon on the control screen at the bottom, looks like a round camera lens, which activates the camera view. You swipe up for the view which includes the rear camera. Also, the steering wheel button just next to the windshield wiper button brings up the camera view.

It's a hexagon with a dot in the upper right quadrant. In the customizing menu it is labeled as "cameras". I keep it up so that I can easily select it.

Really, that app can completely eliminate the need for both side mirrors and the rear view mirror. I can go a step further and say that it is superior to the side mirrors because when you glance at

The customizing screen is on the bottom of the main screen. It is a faint square with three dots inside.

Oh ok, you are saying just use the camera app. So there is no setting to add the side camera views to the rear view in the navigation app.

It doesn’t really do busted to make one choose between having either navigation up or cameras. Now, if I could reprogram the camera button on the squircle to toggle back and forth between the two apps, that might work.

Yep. It would be better to have both apps (nav and cameras) operating simultaneously. Maybe a future upgrade. However, I normally don't need the map, though it does alert to speed cameras.

Actually I have found the “best” rear view camera display is when you swipe the navigation screen all the way to the right and then just have the computer traffic animation full screen. This gives a larger rear view display right in the middle. This might be the best default view and really could be the “permanent” placement (even when the navigation screen is displayed)
