It is possible that sirius allows streaming through the app, as they agreed to in the lawsuit.

IMG_0843.webp
That’s exactly what I do with one of my three lifetime SiriusXM subscriptions - I stream through the app. The point is this has nothing to do with Cybertruck - if you have an issue it is with SiriusXM. Any app can be streamed through Bluetooth to the CT.

Correct, but siriusxm is not fulfilling their obligation in the lawsuit to make that work.
You CAN get sirius in the CT if you pay for a subscription and stream it digitally, sirius is simply dragging their feet hoping a few more suckers will get tired of tying up their phone to stream and just pay for the subscription.

Call sirius and tell them per the lawsuit you require it transferred to your new vehicle which CAN stream sirius, and currently does for thousands of people.

One of my other cars has an Android base radio and I'm able to log in with my credentials and my lifetime subscription works just like on my phone, Tesla can just allow us to log in with our Sirius/XM credentials with the app that is on our trucks already, simple as that. They just blocking it for us to pay for new subscription.

This is technically correct but is completely wrong in the implication that somehow there is an issue transferring a SiriusXM subscription to a CT. Such a transfer is not a thing and never will be a thing.

The issue that some people apparently have is transferring a subscription to their phone. I can see why SiriusXM would refuse to do that. A lifetime subscription on a phone is far more valuable than a lifetime subscription on a vehicle. I have three active lifetime SiriusXM subscriptions - one that I purchased for my phone, one for a vehicle, currently attached to my wife’s Porsche, and one for my sailboat. I have one more that is inactive, purchased for a home stereo system that I no longer own. It would be crazy for me to insist that SiriusXM transfer any of the non-phone lifetime subscriptions to a phone - because that opens up the subscription that was formerly attached to a single radio ID to being streamed anywhere - it would therefore be adding tremendous value to a subscription that was formerly restricted to use in one vehicle - now it could be used to stream at home, office or any vehicle or boombox with Bluetooth. That would not be fair to SiriusXM and should not be allowed.

SiriusXM does allow transfer of lifetime subscription for a fee - last time I did it it was $75 - but only to another radio ID, not to internet streaming. If you want a streamlining subscription, you should buy it. Again, this has zero to do with Tesla or the CT - it is an issue between a SiruisXM customer and that company - it is no different than an Apple Music or Spotify streaming account that you stream from your phone. Got a problem with Apple Music? Don’t call Tesla, call Apple.

A stock Cybertruck does not have a SiriusXM satellite receiver (and probably never will). However, it is possible to install an aftermarket SiriusXM receiver in a Cybertruck (or any other vehicle), as discussed in this thread. The procedure might look complicated, but SiriusXM will be happy to sell you a receiver designed for in-vehicle use, and your local car stereo place probably installs them all the time.

And once you install a SiriusXM receiver, the lifetime subscription should work fine. It's just another satellite radio.
I know that the Cybertruck doesn't have dedicated satellite hardware and it doesn't need it because it comes with the SiriusMX application that enables streaming through use of the data connection. No satellite equipment is necessary. In fact it would be redundant and add extra costs. Most if not all of the lifetime SiriusMX subscriptions come with free unlimited SiriusMX streaming through a internet data connection, weather on your phone, tablet, laptop, desktop or other devices. Sense the SIriusMX app in the cybertruck's UI does have subscription capability, there is no reason that the lifetime subscription can't be enable. The only reason SiriusXM hasn't enabled it yet is because they want lifetime subscription holders to switch to a pay account. Right now SiriusMX is not compliant with the court ruling about the class action lawsuit over lifetime subscription that finalized in February 2021 that states "Unlimited Transfers: Subscribers can transfer their lifetime subscriptions to other devices or vehicles an unlimited number of times."

When I talked to SiriusMX they suggested that I use my phone to stream the SiriusMX stations to my Cybertruck's stereo system via blue-tooth until their Technical team can supposedly work out the technical issues of enabling the lifetime subscription using the App in the Cybertruck UI. They say that they are working it but we all know that is a bunch of BS. They are giving lifetime subscription holders the run-a-round for sure.

Sense no one replied that SiriusMX lifetime subscription has been enabled in their Cybertruck, I assume that everyone is being Denied and not just a portion of lifetime subscription holders.

Your information is correct but dated.
If you paid $75 it may have been quite some time ago before the class action lawsuit.
Cybertruck owners can pay to have SirusXM in the trucks, and because of this and the settlement Sirius is required to allow the use of the platform for lifetime subscribers, for a fee of $35, not $75.
The issue, which may result in another lawsuit, is SiriusXM is dragging their feet hoping CT have unlimited money and will just pay for a subscription.

No, some truck owners have gotten their lifetime subscription transferred, you need to remind SiriusXM about the class action settlement.

The settlement does provide for streaming, but that snippet doesn't...
It calls out "from one satellite radio to another radio capable of receiving SiriusXM's satellite radio service".
Cybertruck has no such radio, and can't receive from satellite.
(FWIW, Data services are the traffic and weather features.)
Tesla Cybertruck SiriusXM Lifetime subscriptions being denied for Cybertruck zimage10900

If we look at the full settlement agreement https://truthinadvertising.org/wp-c...ez-v-Sirius-XM-Radio-settlement-agreement.pdf it specifically calls out:
“Device” means any radio that is capable of receiving Sirius XM’s satellite delivered radio service
Which is not internet streaming

The settlement allowed for inactive lifetime subscribers who chose to reactivate to get access to the same streaming options as active subscribers as on the Effective Date. It does not provide any changes to streaming costs/terms.

And what were the terms?
Tesla Cybertruck SiriusXM Lifetime subscriptions being denied for Cybertruck SmartSelect_20250808_062009_Firefox

Streaming was free to Active Lifetime Subscribers. So, any Active Lifetime Subscriber should be able to get streaming, including in the Cybertruck, for free, no transfer charge.

However, to be an active subscriber does apoear to require an active radio.

The following chat is what you will likely experience if you try to chat online with SiriusXM.
I'll save you some time reading through this run-a-round. I was transferred 7 times to another dedicated team that is specifically for Tesla's before that last Team member escalated my case to the corporate team that will contact me in 7 to 10 days.

👋 Hi, I'm Harmony the SiriusXM AI-powered Virtual Assistant.

This chat will be monitored and recorded by SiriusXM and our service providers for quality purposes. How can I assist you with your SiriusXM service today?

I'm looking to transfer my lifetime subscription to a new vehicle.

Congratulations on your new vehicle! I see you’d like to transfer your lifetime subscription to it. I’ll help you get that set up.

To get started with your transfer, could you let me know if you’d like to move your subscription from your "Stiletto" radio (ending in 4***) or your "Avalanche" radio (ending in 0***)?

Avalanche

Great, we'll transfer your subscription from your Avalanche radio. Could you please provide the Radio ID or VIN for your new vehicle so I can continue with the process?

VLJH5******

It looks like I couldn't find an account with the Radio ID or VIN you provided. Could you please double-check the Radio ID or VIN for your new vehicle and send it again? You can find the Radio ID by tuning to channel 0 on your SiriusXM radio, or the VIN on your vehicle registration or insurance documents. Once you provide the correct information, I can continue with your transfer.

Vin number 7G2CEHEE8RA016*****

A live specialist is required to assist with transferring a lifetime subscription. I’ll connect you now so they can help complete your request.

Lake
My apologies as we do not have an option to transfer the service to Tesla vehicles. As Tesla services do have different platform and plans. Also this is currently being enhanced for further improvements.

I'm aware that the lifetime subscription has been successfully transfered for other Tesla Cybertruck owners. Why is there an issue transfering my subscription?

I'm also aware of the Class action lawsuit results:
The Class action lawsuit, Alvarez et al v. Sirius XM Radio Inc., reached a settlement that was granted final approval on February 9, 2021.
Settlement Terms:
Class members with active lifetime subscriptions can transfer their subscriptions to other devices an unlimited number of times.
The transfer fee was reduced from $75 to $35.

Lake
Yes, that was for non Tesla vehicles.

As Tesla was just recently added to our services and it is currently on progress. We do not have lifetime services yet to Tesla vehicles.

Do need to contact Ahdoot & Wolfson, the attorneys that handled the class action lawsuit, in order to complete my request?

Lake
I do understand that you have concern regarding transferring your lifetime service but we do not have an option to that. As Tesla service is newly platform and do have different plans.

As far as I can tell from the settlement and such, you can't transfer SiriusXM to the Cybertruck because it doesn't has a SiriusXM radio.
Rather, one would log into their account via the Cybertruck app as a streaming device. As long as you have an active account (meaning activated radio), adding streaming is free.
Per others, the web browser can also be used to steam an existing account.

Let me know if you have any luck with this. Seems they forgot the people who have been loyal to them for years. Have 1 lifetime account. I have given up trying to add to my account. I knew they would figure out a way to get out of the lawsuit settlement. Should have took the cash.

There are member on here that claim that they were successful at transferring their lifetime subscription to their Cybertruck. The Cybertruck UI has an application that connects to SiriusXM via data connection (streaming) and has subscription ability. SiriusXM can setup a lifetime subscriber on the Cybertruck using the app. They are just very reluctant to do so. They may have to forced to do so with legal action.

Partial Success!!

SiriusXM offered to pay for 11 of the 12 months for the SiriusXM subscription to be activated on my CyberTruck while they workout how to transfer the Lifetime to my CyberTruck. I only paid $4.99 for a full year SiriusXM subscription and Sirius gave my account a $54.89 to cover the remainder of the year. Hopefully they can solve the technical issues with transferring the lifetime subscriptions to the CyberTruck within a year so that I can receive uninterrupted SirusrXM service.

Let me know if you have any luck with this. Seems they forgot the people who have been loyal to them for years. Have 1 lifetime account. I have given up trying to add to my account. I knew they would figure out a way to get out of the lawsuit settlement. Should have took the cash.

Yes, and device is defined as radios that receive from satellites, not streaming via app.
