I have been checking multiple times per hour since January. It's worst than waiting for my Model 3 early 2018. Back then I waited one month to receive my VIN after placing the order, then another month to take delivery after the VIN assignment.

Ordered my CyberBeast 12/9. Only thing I got back was a low-ball offer on a Mazda CX5 trade-in. Declined it. Now.... nothing. I too am losing my initial rush. Thinking I will decline when it comes through and just wait for non-Foundation model. Love Tesla. Love the CyberTruck. But can "abstain" for awhile. Me thinks.

I’m not that unhappy with them yet. Haha. I’ll take my CT when offered hopefully in the next couple of months. lol

My excitement is starting to become annoyance… multiple checks everyday to see that nothing changes. So annoyed right now
totally agree - I am a Tesla FanBOI in every way.

The Cybertruck has been the most arduous WAIT for an impulse purchase i've ever experienced.

Waited 4 1/2 years for an IMPULSE purchase.

Elon - Tesla needs to do better in setting expectations.

It's like getting a seat at the most pursued restaurant, then not getting your meal for 3 hours. At some point you lose your f*cking hunger and dont care any more. Maybe send out some appetizers...

When I was on the Taycan pre-order (early reservation) list, they sent me FREE a cool Taycan paperweight.. then they sent me a cool wireless phone charger, and some other really neat stuff.

Perhaps all us $1000 reservation owners who filled out all the paperwork with pre-approved loans deserve SOMETHING at this point. Hell I'll even take a cybertruck 1:43 model truck.

I know Dealerships had Model 3's toy models to give out to their favorite customers...

I feel you. Ordered 12/28 and refresh the app, this forum and Reddit like a dozen+ times a day. It’s wearing on me. This past 5 weeks since I ordered has been the most frustrating part of the entire 4 year wait for it. It seemed like it was going to be real when I got the offer and ordered and now this purgatory is the worst spot to be in.
I also ordered mine on 12/28 and have all financing done put very lard downpayment and no Vin number I think because we are on the East Coast that might be the reason I am in N.J. I originally reserved mine on 11/21/2019. I also have an S and X plaid plus Tesla Solar and Power Walls.

I am in NJ also, they withdrew 30k from my account on Jan 12 because I finalized payment on Jan 9th. Stupid me I assumed I was just configuring my account info and they wouldn’t fire the transfer until delivery.

Ye old Tesla did this, got swag with my 2016, felt like a rock star at pickup, even got a toy M3 collectible with my 2018. My 2022 came with a "thanks now see ya". The swag coming with FS is anything but free... but TBH I don't really want swag for waiting, I want "battery chemistry updated, range increased 15%"

Yeah, this is just the reality of pre-order culture and the internet. This same exact conversation occurs today on forums for everything from video games to smartphones to collectables, and clothing.

I do agree, this would be awesome to hold people over. With the Model 3, they sent out that sketch drawing signed(printed) by Franz. Then again, if this was the standard, people would still complain and expect more.. so.. eh, i do not know.

Agreed. When I ordered my Taycan Porsche sent me so many free gifts from wireless chargers to Taycan paperweights to a diecast Taycan. Letters from Porsche thanking me for being a loyal customer.

Tesla needs To learn from this asap

I think there is a lack of communication because they are scared the stock will tank if they admit there are production and/or parts issues
While I am not disputing that these things are currently bad and should change, I don't think this is a deliberate/specific lack of information. Tesla builds this lack of information to the customer into the entire process. They put as many degrees of separation as they can between the customer, and people who can know anything useful.

It just seems that it's particularly worse here, because of this long lead time from randomly getting an order invite to when you get your vin. But it's not "unusual" for how they have always operated. If you've ever custom ordered a vehicle from them ever, this is about par for the course. If you ordered one that happened to already exist somewhere and just needed transport, you'd get a vin in 10 minutes, and not understand the drastic difference here. But a new S or X when they were first rolling out? nobody knew anything for MONTHS. Especially for the X.

Having been a Tesla customer since 2018 and enjoyed buying a few of their cars, I've noticed something different this time around—there's no estimated delivery window for my CyberBeast order in the app, a helpful feature I appreciated with my previous purchases. Also, being asked for the final payment without first receiving a VIN is new to me. It would be great if Tesla could bring back those delivery windows in the app, especially for the CyberBeast orders. It's a small touch, but it really makes the wait feel more manageable and keeps the excitement going!

You aren't the only one I've seen this happen to, but it doesn't seem to be the norm. Whether they didn't have the process set yet or it was a glitch that it asked for it, I don't know. They shouldn't do that. And now that they did, nobody you can communicate with knows anything.

They aren't showing the delivery dates in the app, and that's weird for sure, but how accurate do we even think those are? Would you rather know nothing? Or see "mid-late 2024", and then eventually see it slip into "early 2025"? That was what happened with the latest model X revision. The dates were in the app, and they just slipped and slipped until they were many months later than the first estimate.

I'd probably rather know than not, but tesla probably doesn't want us to see the dates slip if they do. People waiting on those initial X deliveries were no happier seeing the dates slip than any of us are now sitting here guessing.

The pain waiting for the Cyberbeast. Ordered early December. I’m just going to try to wait a month at a time before I check.

I’m not doing financing or trade in until I get a VIN as I’m not trying to redo the process a million times and ruin my credit score lol
Yeah, had I know I could wait until I had a vin I would have..now I'm down points for the hard pull and I'll have to lose more for another..

12/26 order here and I check the app once per day. Nothing yet. At least we have orders in and will get it this year. There is going to be a really long wait for regular orders.

He can get his money back no problem... Just not without canceling his order. That's what he reported earlier. Not saying it's right, but you're asking about "legal".
