I do need to add that because I live in Maine, I had to pay Tesla an extra $750.00 to have a 3rd party carrier deliver the vehicle so I was not home when they dropped it off.
You should delete this thread or at least rename it because it is very misleading.

Problem is the third party delivery. In 2016 I bought a vehicle (2016 GT350) with 100 miles on it and had it shipped from CA to my home in FL in an enclosed trailer. When it arrived the truck driver pulled out several vehicles to get to mine, including a GT350R, and Lamborghini Huracan, and an Audi R8. My neighbors lined up to watch him, so he decided he would show off, took these COLD engines to immediate redline on my street and drove each a few miles screaming the cold engines several miles around my neighborhood. Ridiculous, if the owners only new.

I just received my Cybertruck after waiting 5 years.
So disappointed!
Somewhere between the factory and my home, someone took it for a 'Joyride' of about 34 miles. The inside was covered in dirty handprints and there was even an empty 'Redbull' can in the rear drivers seat pocket. Also, because it had 2 recalls before I even took possession of it, it came missing the windshield wiper end cap and the Frunk is about 3/4" out of alignment on the right hand side (Facing the truck) probably from when they had to remove the wiper motor on recall. The tires look like they definitely have some mileage on them. And last but not least, the inside white trim is coming loose around the steering column assembly. I do need to add that because I live in Maine, I had to pay Tesla an extra $750.00 to have a 3rd party carrier deliver the vehicle so I was not home when they dropped it off. I tried to check the camera history only to find that it had all been deleted.
Has anyone else experienced this 'New Vehicle' condition?

Mine also came sh*t looking, but as far as I know they are all like that and they clean them at the delivery center. In my case I asked to get it sooner rather than later and it wasn't cleaned. No biggie though, a quick detail and it's like new!

Young kids at dealership no one cares is what I felt as well. The finance department was particularly ignorant.

A lifetime ago, I ran a Mazda dealership in my 20s and we sold 500 cars a month and it wasn’t perfect, but we delivered cars that were clean and we took care of the basic respect that followed from somebody purchasing a big item.
The third party carrier may not have that same work ethic. And you weren't home at time of delivery.

Whats your point? I’m giving my own personal experience.
You're trying to spin this as bad service on Tesla when it isn't. You opted for a third party delivery and then weren't there for delivery.

OP. Assuming CT has a usb (glovebox), before you drive around too much and record over things, disable sentry and remove the usb. There are free/paid PC recovery tools you can use to view deleted files on it if you don’t overwrite things. If I recall, the files will show with date in the name. I think there is a sentry and another folder.
Depends what might have been enabled.

Good Morning Folks, Mariner Man here.
Thanks so much for your replies. I completely understand your responses (and agree!). However, throughout this whole process, I have not been able to speak to a Tesla Representative about issues or questions, I just got redirected to FAQ's.
I also want you all to know that I have been a big Tesla and SpaceX fan for over 15 years (and I still am). However, I just wish there was an easier way to communicate with them. This whole process of the final purchase of my truck had to be done using my phone. I am 62 and I much more comfortable using my laptop than my phone (which I try to use as little as possible). But hey, I get it! The phone has become the standard for communication now. The problem is that 'Texts' should not be the only method of communication.

Because everything was via texting to my 'Tesla Advisor' I was never given an option as to when to have my vehicle delivered. It was basically a one way communication from them.
As a matter of fact, when they texted me of the delivery date of 06/29/24, I 'Texted' them back explaining to them that day would not work for me because my wife had just passed away and I would be away at her wake and funeral on that day.
I never heard back from them, but when I got home that night, it was sitting in my driveway.

This was the reason I was unable to inspect it upon delivery. I never had a chance to inspect it and be given the option to reject delivery (if that was even an option).

Also, the temporary registration that was in the glove box expired 5 days after they dropped it off (I am assuming the reason for this was because they issued the temp registration after I paid for it back on 06/05/24 but before they held it back for the two physical recalls that they had to fix prior to delivery).
I read in that same delivery text from my 'Tesla advisor' that my registration paperwork would arrive in 5-10 business days after the temporary registration was issued. I am still waiting for this paperwork to arrive. Until then, I cannot legally drive it.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with delayed paperwork?

Dear Zenny,
Thank you for your response and suggestion to download via USB the Sentry Mode files. I have not driven it more than 10 miles yet, so I will explore this suggestion tonight when I get home from work.
Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Mariner Man

Whether you drove the car 10 miles or 1000 is not relevant.
Unless $120k means nothing to you because you are THAT wealthy, who does this?
Little dramatic, but I agree. I have seen people that order Prius's for cars for people to work on property wait for a car for to be delivered. Yes they cared about cars for the help. Almost giddy. Cars are relatively new in terms of history. People do very different things for or upon delivery.

I don't know. My thoughts are with Tesla you want to find a few hills worth dying for during ownership. Just a few. Ask one's self. Is this the hill I want to ride over with my flag in the flag boot over the hill? Sometimes you get what you want. Sometimes you get shot with arrows.

Either way make sure this is the hill.

Good luck.

Sorry for your loss. I agree with others, your beef is likely with the delivery/transport company, but really impossible to determine.

I've bought cars multiple states away, but have taken the half-day or so to trip there, examine the vehicle in person, test drive, etc. before handing over a check and bringing it home. You do you.

I had my '22 Model 3 delivered to save me a 10+ hour round trip, worth every penny, but in my case the car was clean. The driver did almost come off the ramps crooked when unloading until I stopped him  Communication with Tesla seems to have been better back then though.
