I am thinking : " what COOL unexpected move could get the CT out of demand slump? "

CT is a Marvel , but not in the sense in which is perceived by most consumer drivers. for those ( unfortunately they include majority of consumers) , the CT it is "too much" to grapple with... some get stuck in the shape discussion, some in the size, some in the Elon association.... the vast majority of people with such opinions never drove one or even sat in a CT. but somehow they "know" ( in fact, it is more likely that they "feel" :) ) ... and unfortunately that drives purchasing behavior. clearly CT is not for many... but the fans are still there, many of them normal people wanting to step into the future at a reasonable price.

psychologically, I believe quite some people may be waiting for CT to get closer to the originally advertised prices +$5k or so.
  • Single-Motor RWD: $39,900
  • Dual-Motor AWD: $49,900
  • Tri-Motor AWD: $69,900
it will be interesting to see Tesla's next moves... will they follow a plan to sell the max output of the CT production line or milk the dwindling demand at the current pricing? it is getting as interesting, if not more interesting than the 5y journey from 2019 announcement to 2024 launch.

CT is still the only truck I would consider buy New...my eyes are on the end of Q2!

I could be wrong but I don't see a sub $80k cyberbeast. I think its probably easier for them to mass produce the AWD and RWD to get sales.

Size was the reason that I almost passed on the Cybertruck. I test drove it back in January, and that is all I could think of while driving it. I also own a model Y so the interior was very familiar feeling. You will definitely feel at home in the MY.
I did end up getting a CT just over a week ago and the size was something that I am still getting used to. Having FSD is definitely helpful for the size issue. I tap the screen twice to park, and on narrow roads it does a great job, not that I am fully comfortable with FSD in the CT yet. It has a long way to go to catch up to the FSD in the MY.
I do notice a lot of looky-loos, but I kinda like interacting with strangers. A lot of people are curious and see the CT as the future of vehicles. and to see a kid smile and freak out when they see a CT is like Christmas morning.

Thanks for sharing your story
Previous to getting the CT I drove a M3P and the size was a bit of an adjustment but adjust I did. IMO the steer-by-wire makes the size *much less cumbersome.

I live in a city that has a *lot of anti-Tesla sentiment but that was not why I sold it. My experience was much like yours being very positive with most people being simply curious. Can't even count how many tours I gave. Yeah; kids really do love CT's!

As mentioned previously, the reason I sold the CT is that I am fully retired now and I want to blend in more. Just a personal thing.

When all this passes, (and it will) you will miss that cybertruck. But the new model Y is awesome. Either way you'll be fine.
I love my cybertruck, I just ignore all the hate and don't worry about it.
I'm really excited about the new Model Y, which I *should be getting tomorrow. I'll post my delivery day thoughts for those that are interested. I may indeed miss the CT in the future but if that happens - well - I'll simply buy another one. There is another post a few lines down that mentions a different price structure so who knows; if I do buy another one maybe I will pay less!

But can you see a$55k -$60k CT? Can THEY see it, with dry cathode batts maybe? ?

Why? Sell it before Tesla cuts prices further if you don't need it. $69K the OP is an amazing price. I received $75K in Feb after I sold mine due to health issues (still not resolved so not buying/leasing another vehicle) and it's only dropped since. I can see Tesla discounting the 24 base AWD another $2-4K over the next 3 months as they don't seem to be selling.
Yeah. I felt like 69K was a great price, especially since Carvana was only offering me 58.5K. I know Carmax is a large company and they get most of things right, in terms of their buys, but I can't help but feel they were looking at Foundation Series pricing when they made me the offer. Stranger things have happened.

Maybe I'm alone on this one but I'd like to see the option of a shorter bed. I think it would give it a really good look.

Like another poster stated, I don't see Tesla selling a Tri-motor for 69.9K. That said, I don't see your other pricing that far off the mark for the other models and I think it is a slam dunk there will be price adjustments in the future.

Sold my non-foundation CT yesterday. Pristine condition with 6K miles. Paid $79,900 and CarMax gave me $69,000. I definitely took a hit but not as bad as I thought it would be.

I want to be clear that the CT is unequivocally one of the nicest vehicles I have ever driven. Smooth, powerful and steer-by-wire is kinda life changing. That said, selling it was the right thing for *me. As much as I enjoyed the truck, there is no getting around the fact that it screams "look at me" and I didn't realize just how much it screams that until I owned one and it got to be a bit too much. Also realized that the size of the vehicle was a bit of an issue for me. Furthermore, the grandkids have their own cars now so it's just me and my dog 99% of the time I drive so there's that. Eh. Live and learn.

I ordered up a new Model Y LR and will be taking delivery within 1-3 weeks.

It was a pleasure interacting with all of you on this forum. Enjoy your CT's
You know your situation better than anyone else. In my case, "Look at me is exactly what I like!" I am a musician and have played in front of as many as 250,000 people.
I tell people that it attracts so much attention, it helps me deal with my shyness!

I fully understand your decision. $69k isn’t too bad considering the resale market for the Cybertruck.

I did a nation wide Autotrader search for used CT’s the other day and nothing was lower than $70k.

You’re going to love the Model Y. We have a 4 year old Y and it’s been troublfree minus a home charging unit that was replaced under warranty. I think the front and rear styling look way better than the outgoing model.
searching is retail used, his carmax was a trade in, used wholesale, $69K is amazing
he did great

Yeah I could see an inexpensive one. I just don't think the cyberbeast will ever be very cheap.
In 5 years I'll be looking at aftermarket options for completely dry batteries in my cyberbeast ; ]

Honestly, I know the CT gets more attention than any other vehicle but it’s. It that much attention, in my experience.

That’s a decent offer especially them being a middle man. I was curious and entered my fs beast with 10,000 miles in Carvana and they offered $69,000 as well.
Better than mine. Lol

you bought retail and showing wholesale trade in? apples to oranges
compare new to used retail, used retail are showing the lowest $72-69K
all used vehicles loose 20% after one year and 15% each year after
this is not real-estate that appreciates, its a thing that depreciates

Couldn't agree more. The shorter bed gives it a completely different look that IMO is much nicer.
