OP, you can still get a very lively CT experience here on forum. After seeing the new Toyota Landcruiser, one might think auto designs are heading our way ;) Hope ur MY aftermarket squircle arrives soon.

Thanks! I plan on hanging around because if nothing else this forum has a great bunch of people. Yeah. I was Googling squircles for the new Model Y and there are tons of them out there so I'm on it! I'm gonna have to check out that Landcruiser!

Size was the reason that I almost passed on the Cybertruck. I test drove it back in January, and that is all I could think of while driving it. I also own a model Y so the interior was very familiar feeling. You will definitely feel at home in the MY.
I did end up getting a CT just over a week ago and the size was something that I am still getting used to. Having FSD is definitely helpful for the size issue. I tap the screen twice to park, and on narrow roads it does a great job, not that I am fully comfortable with FSD in the CT yet. It has a long way to go to catch up to the FSD in the MY.
I do notice a lot of looky-loos, but I kinda like interacting with strangers. A lot of people are curious and see the CT as the future of vehicles. and to see a kid smile and freak out when they see a CT is like Christmas morning.

Thanks for sharing your story

My wife would have said that what you needed was to get more dogs, not less of a vehicle... ???

Bahahahahahahahahaha. I completely get that. I currently have the 1 Cattle Dog but I have a feeling she's gonna have a brother or sister sooner than later.

Sold my non-foundation CT yesterday. Pristine condition with 6K miles. Paid $79,900 and CarMax gave me $69,000. I definitely took a hit but not as bad as I thought it would be.

I want to be clear that the CT is unequivocally one of the nicest vehicles I have ever driven. Smooth, powerful and steer-by-wire is kinda life changing. That said, selling it was the right thing for *me. As much as I enjoyed the truck, there is no getting around the fact that it screams "look at me" and I didn't realize just how much it screams that until I owned one and it got to be a bit too much. Also realized that the size of the vehicle was a bit of an issue for me. Furthermore, the grandkids have their own cars now so it's just me and my dog 99% of the time I drive so there's that. Eh. Live and learn.

I ordered up a new Model Y LR and will be taking delivery within 1-3 weeks.

It was a pleasure interacting with all of you on this forum. Enjoy your CT's
When all this passes, (and it will) you will miss that cybertruck. But the new model Y is awesome. Either way you'll be fine.
I love my cybertruck, I just ignore all the hate and don't worry about it.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of drawing attention to myself. I really wanted the snow camouflage for it, since I'm a skier, and this is my ski adventure vehicle.

I think you got a good price for it. Did you get the tax credit? Even if you didn't, any used buyer will be comparing it to a new one that has the tax credit. And, they can also get a referral credit, bringing the price down to $71,500. Not to mention, if Tesla offers their promotional rate of 1.99% again, that's like knocking off $6k off the MSRP. Used vehicles usually don't get special finance rates. So, $65,500 for a new one. Yep, you got a good deal from CM.

That is a great price. I was offered $68k trade in value on my spotless foundation series (w/spare, rear storage, cargo divider), but am holding out for a higher value. Its the best car I've ever owned, but the attention is too much.

I completely get it. The CT is probably the nicest vehicle I have ever driven. That said, you can't really dress it down.
While you can't dress it down, a dark colored wrap seems to soften it a bit.

Why? Sell it before Tesla cuts prices further if you don't need it. $69K the OP is an amazing price. I received $75K in Feb after I sold mine due to health issues (still not resolved so not buying/leasing another vehicle) and it's only dropped since. I can see Tesla discounting the 24 base AWD another $2-4K over the next 3 months as they don't seem to be selling.

that’s wild. On trade-in, it seems that all cyber trucks are being bucketed together. Essentially meaning anything related to foundation is being valued at zero, including FSD. Better off with a private sale… but that requires effort.

It is hard for me to imagine trade-in values going up in the short term medium term though.

The math owners have to do right now is understanding they’ve already encountered the steepest part of the depreciation curve (first year).

Will your cyber truck go down by another $32,000 next year making it now $36,000? $32,000 the next year making it $4,000? No.

Even looking at percentages, $46k next year? $31k the next? $21 the next?

But it’s not all math. If the burden of the negative attention is making your life worse, there is something to be said about just getting rid of it in your case.
