Needed to haul the trash the other day but I didn't want stuff blowing out on the highway. Was easy to just toss in the back with the seat flipped up in my Ford F150. I just realized this load would likely not fit in the CT rear seat area.

FYI the CT rear seat also folds up to give a flat rear floor area.

From what I can tell it depends on four dimensions:

1) the floor to ceiling height, which will be similar in the CT at that location, because the folded seat pushes it forward into the higher roof area, despite the slope. I note the trashcan is lower than the headrests in the photo, so height shouldn't be a problem.
2) the distance between the folded rear seat and the front seat, that can be adjusted as mentioned above.
3) the width to the center console. I think it should be fine.
4) the rear door opening width, which also appears to be similar to the F150

Overall, that particular trash can should fit the same way.

That's what dumpsters are for. I don't imagine driving my CT to the Dump.

Its not a real truck if you don't use it to haul things...
How someone uses their truck doesn't change whether on not it's a truck.

You just here to troll?

Why wouldn't it fit?
A: Cannot haul anything with a truck that is still Vaporware.
B: We shall see. Rumors are the CT back seat is somewhat less spacious.

With that logic my 2006 Toyota Tundra isn’t a real truck if I can’t fit a trash can full of trash in the back seat? With the Cybertruck I’d put said trash in 33 gallon trash bags in the vault and close the cover. No trash in the back seat and none blowing on the highway.

Okay, well your answer answers my question.

A: How is it vaporware when we are all physically seeing it in stores and delivery event is less than five days away?
B: You just saw a pic though. Worst case, you just scoot a seat up. Also, isnt this what beds/vaults are for? Why would you want the trash in the cabin with you?

To be fair, this is the CT vs Competition portion of the Forum.
Reservation holder for the CT on the day they announced. Always had high hopes they would make it more practical.
In the meanwhile Ford introduced the F150 Lightning and have been driving it for about a year. Its pretty much as practical of a pickup truck as every F150 has ever been, except it only comes in the short bed version.
CT seems to have less cargo room even than the Ford. Just pointing it out, hoping SOME EV mfg makes an actual full sized pickup truck that you can haul all your things in the bed, not the back seat.

Why do you care if it’s less spacious? Obviously your F150 can hold trash cans full of trash back there and nothing really can compete with that. It’s not like folks buy trucks based on their own needs. If I can’t fit a bunch of thrash in that back seating area, I may as well cancel my reservation now.

No way in hell I am going to haul trash in the interior of my truck. Maybe a stinky German Shepherd
if the need be. Trash belongs in the bed of a truck.

5 more days of vaporware until SOME people get their CT. How long until significant numbers are shipped. I am like 32,000 in line..
Meanwhile, I have been driving the Ford for over a year.
Hauled the trash like that because I didn't want to take the time to dump it out into bags to stow in the bed (or the frunk) and didn't want to carry the can in the bed where stuff would blow out or it would slide around and tip over.
