Lightning owners use their trucks more than ICE Ford F150 owners.

Fascinating stuff!

Apparently the average for those who sought out the electric F150 were far more active than the more common average.

Maybe that'll dispel the 'EV trucks are for play' but Cybertruck has some catching up to do! If it's everything Tesla says it is, and they can ramp it like their other cars, well, it'll be on top soon enough.

PS: And half of them didn't have a truck immediately prior! Very similar to the demographics here.

From what I can tell this is is a poll from Ford themselves that send out to new customers.

EV nerds are more likely to answer these than regular f150 customers.

We have 10 Lightning Pros and love em.
Had only 1 minor issue so far and it was unrelated to the EV bits. Range is the only limitation. When towing (which is the case ~ 80% of the time) job sites are limited to 40 miles or less each way unless charging is available at the site. Tools etc charge off the truck and as days get hotter, breaks in the AC will be common.
They also have a higher payload than the other F150s. I’m seriously impressed and its no secret which truck the crews prefer. Its become a reward to let the crew of the week have the keys.

Worth noting they are the smaller packs

There are few compromises with EV trucks so it makes sense for them to attract new buyers. I don't see a point in keeping my sport car anymore since Lightning is faster and safer to drive. Cheaper to operate. More quiet and comfortable with a TON more utility. Same calculus will apply to CT.

Good argument, I’ll have to keep this on file for when the truck goes for sale.

Admit it’s always a little disorienting when the Lightning forum regulars names pop up over here in CT land *waves*

BTW, @SolarWizard - love hearing the feedback of fleet/business owners on the BEV truck, which insights I think will tend to have general applicability to any BEV truck

We are the ones that are gone public. I suspect under cover double agent numbers are much higher ;). I think many like me have had multiple reservations. I still have my Rivian and Silverado reservation. I have mostly passed on Rivian but was active on the forum there for a while. Not active on Silverado forum. Despite the fact that I LOVE the mid-gate, I doubt I could get range/price that is acceptable from GM. With CT, my acceptable Range/Price could be slightly lower because of charging network which is why it is still a potential for trade for me. I know people like to find any excuse to be part of one team against another but I just came from ICE and any EV is a part of the same team to me.

This is my logic with the CT. Didn't expect to love my Y as much as I do, but it is the best vehicle I have ever owned and my only regret is not getting the Performance. With the CT fitting my lifestyle better, if pricing isn't too crazy I'll go the highest end route this time.

I have heard some Y performance guys say ride is too harsh. Your wheels may be better.

I think it ultimately needs to match your needs, wants and values. For me, that is not always the highest trim but often biggest bang for the buck. I am really glad I got the lowest Lightning trim. Except range, there is a lot that I like about it more than higher trim options. With CT, if you have not set any price limits for yourself, I doubt you regret the high trim. You will know when you see the specs/price.

I REALLY want the range. I travel quite a bit with my kids' sports and haven't really gotten close to the 300 mi range which is due to my driving behavior and elevation changes. So I'm assuming the highest range will come with the highest trim level which means less charging away from home without having to change my driving behavior as much. Plus, who doesn't like to go fast.
