... can you walk us through your decision making process about this cap vs the competitors? It’s looks like a nice high quality piece but the price isn’t even comparable. What am I missing?
It’s not a critique or a poke, there are just very few people in your position who can have an educated opinion on this.
Sorry, Ace, I somehow missed this earlier.

Back when I first started looking for a topper, Spacecampers was the only option - or at least that's the only one I had discovered. Had the other two mentioned been on my radar I certainly would have considered them. After checking them out online today, the Cybertruckco topper, especially, looks interesting to me, as the self-assembly looks kinda fun. However, I'm quite certain I would have ultimately chosen the Spacecampers Cap. The molded fiberglass composite material provides better insulation and it just seems more stable and secure and permanent. And maybe a bit more like it's an extension of the CT itself. Made by Tesla. I realize I could be mistaken in this regard. I also realize that I might be a bit biased having already purchased the Cap. :)

I called the company a couple of times with questions when I first started considering a purchase. Sometimes you get a strong sense about a person - their trustworthiness, work ethic, commitment, etc. I felt so confident after speaking with Lee and Orion that I pretty much knew I wanted to do business with them.

Same here. We love ours too. ...
Very nice set up. (y)
That looks like a Nature Nest awning. Lee mentioned that a previous install had one mounted and that the owner really liked it. I'll guess that was you guys? He sent me a link to their product page. I love it. It's got me thinking. But I don't want to drive around with it up there all the time when we'd only use it occasionally. Thinking.

Also, how are those hooks/wracks secured to the outside of the CT?

Thanks for the thoughtful response. I can see that. So the cap is not metal like the urander.
ok…check. That’s one key difference.
I also see lights inside and what looks like custom carpeting.
how does that ventilation system they mention work? Does it get crazy hot in there?
Can you see clearly out the mirror through both windows?

I ordered the optional interior light strips. They come with a wall wort to plug them into an outlet in the bed box, and you have to manually control them with an on/off switch. However, I had them hardwire it into the lighting harness so that the Cap interior lights will behave just as the CT vault lights do. That is, they come on when you open the tailgate, and you can control them from the app, etc. Sweet.

The interior of the Cap is covered in a fabric. It comes that way. You can stick things onto it with Velcro, but I haven't played around with mounting anything on it yet. The fabric interior really gives it a warm, cozy feel.

I didn't order the ventilation system, so I have no experience regarding that. I do know it's an easy add later if I change my mind.

With the tonneau rolled up you can see all the way through. But I've gotten so used to looking at the rear feed on the screen that I became frustrated when it disappeared as a result of retracting the tonneau! So now I bump the tonneau up far enough to activate the rear feed when I drive. Funny how we all complained about no view in the mirror when it first came out. :)

Ace, I see you live in Arizona. I'm in Tucson through sometime around the end of April. If you'd like to take a look at the setup, I'd be happy to show you.

The Naturenest is working really well, great for the price. The brackets mount into the load bars (right into the L-Tracks on the roof) so 4 bolts and it’s off. Havent taken it off yet.

Dale, I am also in Tucson and would love to see your setup, please? I have 2 FS Cyberbeasts, one with and one without free supercharging. One I use locally when I can get there and back home without needing to charge. The one with free supercharging for road trips. That one I've been thinking about putting a cap on it. Thank you.

FYI in settings you can set the rear camera view to on all the time. So even if the cover is down the rear video shows....Love the set up, glad you had a good experience with them. I am holding out for the wedge...

Perfect! I wonder what else is in there that I haven't discovered yet! Thanks so much.

I have mine set to off because I have an electronic mirror where the old little factory one was. It frees up a lot of screen real estate and feels much more natural driving.
All the muscle memory of looking in an actual rearview is maintained.
Strangely it also makes the cabin feel bigger. Hard to describe something the size of a Cybertruck as claustrophobic, but once you can see out the back like a little hatchback it feels much more spacious.

Dale, Where did you get the bed and tailgate carpet? Is it custom?

I made the liner with material I purchased from RealTruck (if I recall correctly), the company that sells Bed Rugs. I think it cost something like $130, and I still have a little left over for future projects. A couple of days ago I posted briefly about that project here. Happy to answer any questions.
