Just want to spread some positivity around this incredible vehicle that we all get the pleasure of driving.

As I was putting a few gardening supplies into the bed of my cybertruck in an Ace Hardware parking lot I was approached by an older gentleman who was about to get into his Dodge RT truck, he kindly asked if it would be all right if he could take a peek inside the truck to which I gladly invited him to take a look and this led to a 30 minute awesome conversation. He had so many questions, interest, and excitement around discovering all the cool quirks that the cybertruck has to offer, from the steer by wire to the suspension to the stainless steel, the fact that there’s no clear-coat and it could be sanded down and so on and so on. He learned about full self driving, which he had no idea about, asked questions about charging on road trips, using the charging network, and as the conversation continued I could see his interest and excitement growing. We also discussed how the media has portrayed everything, and how it may SEEM like a lot of overly woke and in general very troubled people out there have tarnished the reputation of this incredible machine, but nonetheless, it EXISTS, it’s incredible, and every owner will tell you that they love theirs, and that’s what matters, especially in the long run.

This gentleman was driving an RT from circa 2012, came off as a humble, respectful person, clearly took good care of his truck and himself, and it is not unlikely that he may look into purchasing a CT, but honestly, that doesn’t even matter, what matters is that there are people like him all over the place and they may look at the car and you as they pass by, and it may seem like you’re getting more attention than you would normally be used to, but remember that all of those people looking at you are not insane or troubled vandals, like this gentleman, many of them are actually curious, interested, and excited to see what looks like a spaceship driving down the road, and many of them would be even more excited to learn about the fact that it is indeed very much like a spaceship in so many innovative ways. Regardless of all the negative media, assume positive intent with folks, ignore the lost and confused, worry less, get out there, and ENJOY your cybertruck!

Much love and respect to all on this forum.

I have probably spent more than 100 hours talking to people just like this. Never gets old!

Thanks for sharing the positive story! Always good to share positivity vs negativity.

I’ve had a similar experience with people being interested.

Recently, over the last 3 weeks, I’ve had more people giving me the thumbs up while driving. I always give them a thumbs up back.

I’ve also noticed more people over the last couple weeks especially seem to be more expressive of the positivity over the truck, very nice to see.

This is great to hear! I have to say that the interactions I have had have been overwhelmingly positive with adults and children. This previous weekend my Wife and I were in a coffee shop drive-through and a 9 year old boy sitting outside with his Grandma got so excited to see the truck. I gave him a Cybertruck sticker and his Grandma asked if she could take pictures of her Grandson with the truck. "Of course!" It made my day, an his!

There have been a few adults that gave me the finger, or a thumbs down, but they are clearly a very disturbed minority of the people out there. As usual, the news outlets are the primary problem as they push negativity and convince a portion of their viewers that people driving Teslas are evil and need to be harassed. If we keep pushing a positive message and treat people with respect, the good folks will outnumber the bad by a long shot.

Many thanks to this forum and the other sites out there focusing on the positive, because this truck is truly awesome.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Last night I went to our annual Township Meeting here in rural Southern IL. For the past several years meetings have often been very contentious, so I was hesitant to take the CT, but my wife was using our MY. The meeting went very smoothly and only lasted 30 min. For an hour after the meeting I was doing show and tell involving probably a dozen people from both sides; all interested and positive. I had fun showing that yes, you can haul 4x8 sheets of plywood, etc. also pointing out that it powered our house during a recent ice storm when the grid was down for 4 days.

My biggest positive moment was last fall. I was behind a school bus on my way back from the grocery store. As we came to a stop sign I noticed like 15 little faces pressed up against the rear glass of the bus. the bus turned the corner and as it did, I was right behind. As soon as the bus settled into it's lane, I gave the beast all, rocketing past the bus with (I think) every little face in every window watching as I whooshed past it. In that moment, I might as well have been Batman.

That's pretty brave and honest of you to admit you were hesitant to take your Cybertruck somewhere due to perceived social pressures. If I were that sensitive to what other people thought, it would be difficult for me to admit it!

I'm pretty much the opposite. The idea that I might see a freak get triggered by my Cybertruck makes me want to take it more, even when I know I don't need a truck and could just as easily take my Model 3 Performance. Having said that, most Cybertruck trips are disappointing in that respect (no free entertainment), even though I'm keeping a keen eye, I only see a freak triggered a minority of the time. Maybe only 10% of the time.

In my heart I know mental illness is a terrible thing. Am I a bad person for wanting to see it? Probably, but I can't help it. I've always been a curious person and, if it's going to exist, my curiosity makes me want to see it, I find the phenomenon interesting.

When driving, my goal is to move along seamlessly with the traffic. I don’t have any desire to cause someone who might be on edge because of some serious problem to do something stupid.
While driving, flying, or generally in life, situational awareness is a major factor contributing to successful outcomes. In a loaded situation such as was possible at the meeting I was attending, I considered the possibility that the CT, might have been a disruptive distraction that I could avoid. I could have taken our 2013 Toyota, but always prefer to drive the CT. It was nice that it had a positive effect.
Perhaps more in line with your point of view, I have considered a bumper sticker saying:“I’m a left handed banjo player from Oklahoma. Do you think I care if you don’t like my truck?” ?. But that’s too long, so: “Don’t like my truck? I don’t care.”

It's so funny that I see all these POSITIVE stories here and in CT and Tesla groups on Facebook (mostly the ones that don't allow 'fake' accounts or non-owners)...
There really are soooooo many happy people out there...

YET, the MEDIA seems to zero in on the bad (and often faked or disingenuous) stories just so they can beat up on Tesla, Elon and Trump...

I would say it's probably about 20-1 (positive vs negative) stories from the sites that *I* visit...

Yet if there is even a RUMOR or a Cybertruck or Tesla involved in an accident, its as if it's front page news for everything 'negative' about Tesla...

I guess we just need to keep posting "I bought a Cybertruck and am REALLY happy with it" and just leave all rest alone...

Also, doesn't hurt to report all those swastica and nazi type postings as HATE, which is just what they are! The more THEY get reported, the fewer there will be for us to have to look at...
